ASSURE MODEL LESSON PLAN

Subject: English Class: 4 Kreatif


Topic: MODULE 8 : Amazing Animals Age Range: Year 4 (10 Years Old)
Time: 1 Hour
A. ANALYSE LEARNERS
General Characteristics : There are 20 pupils - 12 girls and 8 boys. The seating arrangement
in the classroom is group pods, 4 seaters each group. In the classroom, LCD projector and
smart TV were provided for educational purposes. The children are familiar with the technology
used in the classroom, as they come from a moderate socioeconomic background and live in
an urban area.

Entry Characteristics : Pupils enjoy participating in activities that allow them to explore
attractions and unique animals around the globe.
Learning Style : The majority of pupils in this class have a visual learning style and are
kinaesthetic learners. The materials provided will align with the pupils' learning preferences in
visual learning.
B. STATE OBJECTIVES
Pupils will be able to :
• Engage in interactive and enjoyable learning through digital materials by exploring wild
animals around the globe
• Enhance language skills through quizzes and writing a short journal based on their
digital exploration.
• Develop collaboration and critical thinking skills through group activities.
• Strengthen memorization and activate prior knowledge (schemata).

C. SELECT MEDIA, MATERIALS AND METHODS


Media : The teacher will use a PowerPoint presentation for the lesson, which will be shared
with the class via Google Chrome on the Smart TV or LCD projector.

Materials : PowerPoint , Smart TV/LCD projector, Toy brick blocks

Methods :
• Play-based learning (Explore multiple animals around the world together)
• Collaborative learning (In group, pupils answer the question provided)
• Active learning (The pupils will have discussion on what features the animal have)

D. UTILISE MEDIA, MATERIALS AND METHODS


Environmental Preparation : In groups of 5, students sit and face the Smart TV or LCD
projector, which is displaying the PowerPoint presentation at the front of the class.

E. REQUIRE LEARNER PARTICIPATION


Pre-Lesson:
1. The teacher puts up the lyrics of a song and sings the song titled “Let’s Go to The Zoo.”
2. Teacher sings the song with gestures.
3. Teacher asks the pupils to sing along while making the gestures. Teacher asks the
pupils what they think they will learn today.
4. Teacher introduces the topic and objectives of the lesson.
Pre-Presentation Stage:
1. Pupils are placed into mixed-ability groups (3-4 pupils per group).
Using the Interactive PowerPoint, pupils answer comprehension questions displayed
on the slides.
2. Each group discusses the questions and writes their answers on a mini whiteboard or
worksheet.
3. Teacher monitors group work and provides guidance where necessary.

Presentation Stage:
1. Teacher introduces an Interactive PowerPoint about animals, including pictures,
sounds, and information about different animals (e.g., habitat, diet, characteristics).
2. Teacher asks prediction questions: "What do you think these animals eat?", "Where do
they live?"

Practice Stage:
1. Each group selects one animal from the PowerPoint and prepares a short presentation
(2-3 sentences) about the animal’s characteristics using the toy brick blocks (e.g.,
habitat, diet).
2. Groups take turns presenting their animal information to the class.

Closure:
The teacher asks the students what they have learned during the lesson. Teacher sings the
song “ Let’s Go to The Zoo” again with the children.
