General Instructions:
Read the following instructions very carefully and strictly follow them:
(i) This Question paper contains 38 questions. All questions are compulsory.
(ii) This question paper is divided into five Sections – A, B, C, D and E.
(iii) In Section A, Questions no. 1 to 18 are multiple choice questions (MCQs) and questions number 19
and 20 are Assertion-Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
(iv) In Section B, Questions no. 21 to 25 are very short answer (VSA) type questions, carrying 2 marks
each.
(v) In Section C, Questions no. 26 to 31 are short answer (SA) type questions, carrying 3 marks each.
(vi) In Section D, Questions no. 32 to 35 are long anwser (LA) type questions, carrying 5 marks each.
(vii) In Section E, Questions no. 36 to 38 are case based questions carrying 4 marks each.
Internal choice is provided in 2 marks questions in each case study.
(viii)There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in 2 questions in
Section B, 2 questions in Section C, 2 questions in Section D and 3 questions in Section E.
(ix) Draw neat diagrams wherever required. Take π =22/7 wherever required, if not stated.
(x) Use of calculator is not allowed.

23. In figure given, if AC = BD, show that AB = CD. State the Euclid's postulate/axiom used for the same.
24.(a) Find the area of an isosceles triangle having base 2 cm and the length of one of the equal
sides 4 cm.

(b) Find the area of a triangle whose two sides are 56 cm and 60 cm and its perimeter is 168cm.
SECTION C
This section comprises short answer (SA) type questions of 3 marks each. 6 x 3 = 18
26. (a) Prove that the angles opposite to equal sides of a triangle are equal.

(b) In the figure, OA=OB, OC=OD and ∠AOB=∠COD. Prove that AC = BD.
27. In the given figure, AB ∥ CD and CD ∥ EF. Also, EA ⊥ AB and ∠ BEF = 65°. Find the values of x, y and z.

30. (a) The sides of a triangular field are 51 m, 37 m and 20 m. Find the number of rose beds that can be
prepared in the field if each rose bed occupies a space of 6 sq.m.

(b) The sides of a triangle are in the ratio of 12: 17: 25 and its perimeter is 540 cm. Find its area.

SECTION E
This section comprises of 3 case-study based questions of 4 marks each. 3 x 4 = 12

36. There is a square park ABCD in the middle of Saket colony in Delhi. Four children Deepak, Ashok, Arjun
and Deepa went to play with their balls. The colour of the ball of Ashok, Deepak, Arjun and Deepa are
red, blue, yellow and green respectively.
All four children roll their ball from center point O in the direction of XOY, X’OY, X’OY’ and XOY’. Their
balls stopped as shown in the below image.
Based on the above information, answer the following questions.

(i) What are the coordinates of the ball of Ashok? [1]
(ii) (a) Find the distance between Arjun’s and Deepa’s ball? [2]

(b) What is the perpendicular distance of the point P (-2, -7) from the x-axis and y-axis? [2]

38. Prime Ministers Relief fund (also called PMNRF In short) is the fund raised to provide support for people
affected by natural and manmade disasters. Natural disasters that are covered under this include flood,
cyclone, earthquake etc. Man made disasters that are included major accidents, acid attacks, roots etc.
Two friends Rima and Sima together contributed Rs. 200 towards Prime Minister Relief fund.
(i) How to represent the above situation in linear equation in two variables? [1]
(ii) (a) Express the linear equation 𝑥 = 3𝑦 in the form of 𝑎𝑥 + 𝑏𝑦 + 𝑐 = 0 and indicate the values of
𝑎, 𝑏 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐. [2]
