The document describes the basic operational amplifier (op-amp) integrator circuit, which includes a capacitor between the inverting input and output, and a resistor connecting the inverting input to the circuit input. It highlights the applications of the integrator circuit in analog computers, analog-to-digital converters, and wave-shaping circuits, particularly as charge amplifiers. Additionally, it mentions the frequency response graph and waveforms associated with the circuit.

CIRCUIT

• The basic op amp integrator circuit has an op-amp with a

capacitor. The capacitor is placed between the inverting input and
the output. There is a resistor ‘R1’ from the inverting input to the
circuit input. When we apply a signal to the inverting input, the
output produced is the reverse of the output produced in a CR
integrator network.
The output voltage ‘Vout’ generated by the op-amp for a
particular input (Vin) can be given by the following op amp
integrator equation.
APPLICATONS
The integrator circuit is mostly used in analog computers, analog-to-digital converters and wave-
shaping circuits. A common wave-shaping use is as a charge amplifier and they are usually
constructed using an operational amplifier though they can use high gain discrete transistor
configurations.
