General Instructions :

1. Answers to this Paper must be written on the paper provided separately.

2. You will not be allowed to write during the first 15 minutes. This time is to be spent in reading

the Question Paper.

3. The time given at the head of this paper is the time allowed for writing the answers.

i) Raju invests ₹ 4500 in 8%, ₹ 10 shares at ₹ 15. He sells the shares, when the price rises to ₹ 30 and 4

invests the proceeds in 12%, ₹ 100 shares at ₹ 125. Calculate

a) the sale proceeds.

b) the number of ₹ 125 shares, he buys.

c) the change in his annual income from dividend.

ii) Find the ratio in which point P(k, 7) divides the segment joining A(8, 9) and B(1, 2). Also find k. 4

iii) Using graph paper to answer the following questions. 5

(take 10 small divisions = 1 unit on both axes)

a) Plot the points A(- 4, 2) and B(2, 4).

b) Aʹ is the image of A, when reflected in the Y-axis. Plot it on the graph paper and write the

coordinates of Aʹ.

c) Bʹ is the image of B, when reflected in the line AAʹ. Write the coordinates of Bʹ.

d) Write the geometric name of the figure ABAʹ Bʹ.

Attempt any four questions.

Question – 4

i) In the given figure, a circle touches the side BC of a ∆ABC at P and AB and AC produced at Q 3

and R respectively. Prove that

AQ = AR = (perimeter of ∆ABC)

ii) Mr. Amit opens a Recurring Deposit Account of ₹ 300 per month at 8% simple interest per annum. 3

On maturity, he gets ₹ 9930. Find the period for which he continued with the account.

iii) A man observes the angle of elevation of the top of a building to be 30°. He walks towards it in a 4

horizontal line through its base. On covering 60 m, the angle of elevation changes to 60°. Find the

height of the building correct to the nearest metre. Also, find distance of man from building after

walking.

i) The sum of three numbers in AP is 15 and their product is 105. Find the numbers. 3

ii) Solve the inequation 3

2x – 3 < x + 2 ≤ 3x + 5; Represent it on a number line, where x ϵ I.

iii) Find the equation of the line passing through the point (0, - 2) and the point of intersection of the 4

lines 4x + 3y = 1 and 3x – y + 9 = 0.

i) a) The mid-point of AB is P(- 2, 4). The coordinates of the points A and B are (a, 0) and (0, b), 3

respectively. Find the values of a and b.

b) Two vertices of a triangle are (3, - 5) and (- 7, 4). If its centroid is (2, - 1), find the third vertex.

ii) Solve for x : 3

i) In the given figure, a cylinder with hemisphere on one side and a cone on the other side. Find the 3

volume of the solid.

ii) Construct a tangents to a circle of radius 1.8 cm from a point on the concentric circle of radius 2.8 3

cm and measure its length.

iii) The price of an article is ₹5120 inclusive of GST, at the rate of 28% on its listed price. A customer 4

asks the dealer for a discount on the listed price so that after charging GST, the selling price will

be same as listed price. What is the amount of discount which the dealer must allow for the deal?
