Version 4.0

1 Foreword
The identification of spare parts and assemblies represents a challenge for technically
demanding products and is often an enormous hurdle for spare part buyers and sellers. In
some cases the search time can be very high. In order to minimize search efforts, modern
manufacturers of commercial vehicles use electronic catalogue systems. These catalogue
systems combine design and production databases into one information system.

Version 4.0

2 system requirements

2.1 Liaison

Internet access is required in order to use the electronic spare parts catalogue. The bandwidth
of the connection is one of the decisive factors in how quickly the application can be used.

2.2 Firewall
Companies today protect you with a firewall against viruses, Trojans and so-called spam mails.
After logging in (see Login), the page with the chassis number must appear - if your firewall
allows access to our website (http://www.kaessbohrer.at:8080/kaessbohrer_shop). If you are
already denied access at this point, please talk to your IT department. A share of the internet
address or a setting in your firewall is required in most cases (ports 80 and 8080 must be
shared). If you still cannot access our website, please contact our staff.

2.3 Java
We recommend the use of the current JAVA script. If you are working with an old JAVA script,
the displays in the catalog may fail. Current scripts can be found at
www.java.com/de/download/

2.4 Optimal display on the screen

To achieve maximum use of your screen, press the F11 key after starting the spare parts
catalogue. To return to the original view, press the F11 key again.

3.1 Assignment of user name and password

The user name and password for the spare parts catalogue is assigned exclusively by
Kässbohrer Eugendorf. To gain access, please contact the address below. We will send you
a code card with the user name and password for your catalogue access. With this code card
you can log into the catalogue from any Internet access point via our Internet address.

3.2 login

Please find the user name and password on your code card. You can select the menu language
in the lower part of the login screen. After the successful login, the shopping cart, orders, order
history, the input mask for the VAK number and logout are available to you. Please leave the
application only via the Logout button. With the lower drop down tab you can change the
language of the user interface.

4 Chassis numbers

4.1 Finding the chassis number

Please take the chassis number from your vehicle documents or read it directly from the
vehicle.

4.2 Entry of the complete chassis number

The overview shows our products in rich or pale representation. This indicates the degree of
completion of the spare parts catalog. Those products, which are fully displayed, have already
been fully integrated into the spare parts catalogue. All parts can be identified by the chassis
number.

Fig. 3: Position Entry of the chassis number

Application description for electronic spare parts catalogue Page 7

Version 4.0

4.3 Input chassis number

The first three digits of the chassis number indicate whether it is the body of the motor vehicle
or the trailer. This distinction must be made within a product group. As an aid for the correct
input of the chassis number, the reference to the chassis number combination is given for each
product in the VAK input mask.

Fig. 4: Differentiation between motor vehicle / trailer Chassis number

Examples:

645000D1511797657FBCE1712107

If you enter the chassis number incorrectly, nothing will be displayed in the catalog.

8 Symbol descriptions / functions

Symbol: Description / Function:

Start symbol for the spare parts search catalogue. If

you click on it, the navigation menu and the image
navigation for the respective chassis number are
loaded.

This button takes you from the catalog to the

documentation level and back. As soon as you click on
this button, the document structure appears in the left
menu navigation.

With this button you can go one step back or forward,

the navigated steps will be executed again. The
change between the main menus is also saved. For
example, if you want to switch back from the web shop
to the catalog again. The catalog displays the last
setting made or the last assembly called.

With the Search button you can search for articles by

numbers or names. (see also chapter 8.4.)

The first icon allows you to show or hide the assembly

structure/tree view. If you click on the second symbol,
the parts list is arranged below or to the right of the
drawing.

This button starts the enabled one jumping to

catalog.

An active double up arrow jumps to the higher level of

the tree group hierarchy.

The double arrows scroll to the previous or next

assembly within the same hierarchy.

With this "button" you start the print function. You can
choose from several types of printouts.
Print the drawing, print incl. parts list or only

Tools for Image Navigation

The display + and - are magnifying glasses or zoom
functions. The entire image can be enlarged or
reduced. The fourth icon on the bar is a frame tool.
Within the display, a frame can be dragged over an
area to enlarge it. This requires that the left mouse
button remains pressed while dragging. The bottom

symbol enables a magnifying glass function

with the possibility of moving. It is possible to zoom and
"drive" over the image at the same time.

If an article is marked with the telephone symbol

this article can be ordered only with consultation
by the spare part sales.

The double gearwheel means that the displayed

assembly branches again into a subassembly with
individual parts. The
symbol shows that additional information, such as a
replacement or omission of a part,
have been saved. Click on it and a window will open.
All additional information is displayed in it.

If an article is to be ordered, you only need to click on

the
Shopping cart clicked . A window with the
essential information about the article opens, the
desired quantity is saved in the shopping cart. The
symbol indicates that documents are stored in the
database for the spare part or assembly (e.g. repair
instructions, service info, operating instructions).
These documents
can be displayed by clicking on the book. Only

Version 4.0
those articles which are marked with a book also have
an assignment to a document.
If only one gear is shown in the display or in the line
of an article, it is an individual part. This part can also
be ordered together with the shopping cart.

If an article is marked with this symbol, it is a

promotion part.

9 Spare parts search in the spare parts catalogue

The electronic spare parts catalogue is based on the data from our development, data from
production and the construction descriptions of the vehicles. The menu navigation on the left
side of the catalogue shows the individual assemblies of our products. You can search for
spare parts in the catalogue using the menu-guided navigation, as well as identify assemblies
and parts directly in the display view using the "balloons" with the number entries.

9.2.1 Image Navigation

The image navigation is carried out with the help of isometric representations whose
balloons are linked. These balloons take you to the next assembly level.

9.2.2 Search for electrical components

All device diagrams are designed as 2D circuit diagrams. The end devices of the 2D circuit diagrams
can in turn be dismantled into their individual parts as isometric representations.
Electronic components can be searched through the item Overview Electrical

Components. ATTENTION only in the German version!!!
