Project 1
Create a Story using Scratch

Scratch is a free programming language using which you can create your own
interactive stories, games, and animations.

Visit the website http://scratch.mit.edu and watch the tutorial “create a story”.

• Now create your own story using any sprites you like
• You can use more than one sprite and any backdrop
• Make sure the story is interesting and entertaining.
• Take screenshots of your story showing code area and script area and save in
Ms. Word file.
• Save both your scratch and word file as “My story- your name- class” to
submit later as a softcopy. (For example, My story-Ahmed Ali-Y7)

Project 2
Create an Animation using Macromedia
Flash
Macromedia flash is a software that we can use to make interactive animations.
Tetris is a popular video game played by kids all over the world.

• Design an animation of Tetris as shown in the example below.


• You should move your bricks down in every frame just like the real game.
• You can use bricks of any shape, color and number (or simply follow the
given example on next page)
• Make sure the video is running smooth (tip: for smooth video always use
more frames like 5,10,15,20 so on).
• Take screenshots of your story showing timeline and stage area (of every
keyframe) and save in Ms. Word file.
• Save both your word file and animated video as “Tetris-your name-class” to
submit later as a soft copy (For example, Tetris-Naila Khan-Y7)

Project 3
Create a PowerPoint Presentation
Microsoft PowerPoint is a tool that we can use to make a variety of presentations.
You will make a presentation about yourself

Instructions
Design and Formatting
• You can use any theme, background color and font
• Font size of headings should be 24 and text should be 18.
• Everything in text should be in bullets (Not Title)
• Add pictures of your choice (like those shown in example below)
• Add at least 4 animations (To pictures or text)
Slides (at least 10)
• A title slide showing “About me”
• Add a title slide with your Full Name, Class and Student ID
• A slide about your basic information (age, height, birthday)
• A slide about your home-city and its picture
• A slide about your favorite foods (with picture)
• A slide about your favorite activities (with picture)
• Add at least 4 more slides of your choice (you can add anything you like
such as your dreams, favorite person, good qualities etc.)
• Take a screenshot of your presentation in slide sorter view and save in Ms.
Word file.
• Save both your word file and presentation as “About Me-your name-class”
to submit later as a soft copy (For example, About Me-Amna Alam-Y7)

Project 4
Create an Excel Spreadsheet of Your Shop
Microsoft Excel is a tool that we can use to make detailed spreadsheets.
Summer is a time when you should help your parents in cleaning out your room.
Make a list of things you have in your room and create a shop.
Imagine that you are selling all these things.
You will make a spreadsheet as shown below:

Instructions
• Use any background color for the highlighted cells.
• Use Font size 18 for all cells.
• Add at least 10 items from your room in the list (fill all columns)
• In cell B, C and D14, use a formula to find the average of columns above
• In cell B, C and D 15, use a formula to find the minimum of columns above
• In cell B, C and D 16, use a formula to find the maximum of columns above
• In cell B17, use a formula to find the total number of items in your list
• In column E, you will fill the rating of an item.
o The item that is sold most is Best-Seller (Only 1 item will be the
Best-Seller)
o Items that are sold less will be LOW
o Items in the middle will be MEDIUM
• Show all formulas and apply header (Name, Student ID, Class)
• An example spreadsheet has been made for you (on the next page)
• Take a screenshot of your spreadsheet (Formula view) and save in Ms. Word
file.
