Knowledge Graph

A knowledge graph enhances its richness with new data, integrating data, graph, and semantics for deep context. It is defined by targeted applications and differs from ontology, which is based on domain knowledge and relationships. Key features include support for heterogeneous data, modeling real-world information, and enabling logical reasoning through graph traversal.

Knowledge Graph

A knowledge graph gets richer as new data is added. Through a combination of data, graph, and
semantics (meaning), we can get a knowledge graph with deep, dynamic context.

A Knowledge Graph and its database structure are focused on the applications we target to
build. Therefore, they are defined by the task. On the other hand, ontology is defined from the
domain knowledge, contains the definition of a concept and its relationships for a given
domain as well as the domain rules.

Compared to normal graph

 Heterogenous data: supports different types of entities (person, date, painting, etc) and
relations (likes, born on, etc).
 Model real-world information: closer to our brain’s mental model of the world (represents
information as a normal human does)
 Perform logical reasoning: traverse the graphs in a path to make logical connections (A’s
father is B and B’s father is C, hence C is the grandfather of A)
