CHAP 01 - HELICOPTER INSPECTION BEFORE FLIGHT

Pilots must check before each flight:

- Start up area: Clean and without foreign objects
- Main Rotor Blades: Untied, no leaks on
articulations and dampers, no Red color on Spar
GlassIndicators, no visible damage.

Warning: Flying is strictly forbidden if the red

strip of the main rotor spar pressure indicatorcap
becomes visible

- Nose landing gear strut and tires properly charged.
For any combination of helicopter weight andcenter of
gravity position the nose LG strut compression should
not exceed 150mm on compass indicator. Tires
deflection should not exceed 43mm and rubber
should not let any red layer visible.
- Integrity of fuselage, navigation and anti-collision lights
- Right main fuel tank: No leaks, cup closed and secured,
condition of the tank fasteners
- Right main landing gear strut properly charged, no
indication of hydraulic leaks. Main landing gear wheel
tire properly inflated :

- 68 ± 20mm at 13000Kg
- Tail boom, pylon, stabilizer, tail bumper fittings without
damages
- Tail Rotor: Hub and blades free from leaks,
damages, ice or snow. Check the level and color of
oilin the glass indicator at the bottom of each blade.
- Intermediate and tail rotor gearboxes: check oil levels and

inspection
