Hyper linking
hyperlinks in Microsoft word are used for a variety of reasons, including:
linking to external sources hyperlinks can be used to link to other
documents, research articles, or websites. This can help readers learn more
about a topic and gain context for the content. Navigating documents
hyperlinks can be used to navigate within a document, allowing readers to
quickly jump to specific parts without scrolling or searching. Sharing
information hyperlinks can be used to share useful information with readers
that doesn't need to be included in the document. Legal documents some
legal documents may require hyperlinks to other documents or legal
resources.
Steps of using hyper link
*Highlight the Text or Object: Select the text, image, or shape you want to turn
into a hyperlink.
*Insert the Hyperlink:
*Right-click the selected text or object and choose Hyperlink from the context
menu.
*OR go to the Insert tab on the Ribbon and click Link or Hyperlink.
*Set the Link Destination:
*In the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, you can:
*Link to a Web Page: Enter the URL in the "Address" field.
*Link to a File or Document: Browse and select the file from your computer.
*Link to a Place in the Document: Choose a bookmark or heading.
*Link to an Email Address: Click Email Address on the left and enter the email
and subject.
*Confirm: Click OK to insert the hyperlink.
*Edit or Remove a Hyperlink
*Edit: Right-click the hyperlink and select Edit Hyperlink to change the link
destination.
*Remove: Right-click the hyperlink and choose Remove Hyperlink to keep the
text or object without the
link

OBJECT LINKING
Object Linking refers to the process of embedding dynamic content or data
from one file into another, such that changes made in the source file
automatically update in the linked file. This is commonly used in productivity
software like Microsoft Office to integrate content while maintaining a
connection to the original file.
How to Link an Object in Microsoft Word:
Copy the Source Object:
Open the source application (e.g., Excel) and copy the object (e.g., chart,
table).
Paste as a Link:
In Word, go to the location where you want to place the object.
Right-click and select Paste Special.
Choose Paste Link and select the appropriate object type (e.g., Excel Chart).
Click OK.
Save Both Files: Ensure both the source and linked document are saved to
avoid broken links.
