General Instructions:
1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A-E.
2. Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
3. Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
4. Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
5. Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
6. Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with subparts of
the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
7. All questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 questions of 5 marks, 2
questions of 3 marks and 2 questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice has
been provided in the 2 mark questions of Section E.
8. Draw neat figures wherever required. Take π =22/7 wherever required, if not stated.

27. Verify: x3 + y3 = (x + y) (x2 – xy + y2)
28. Sides of a triangle are in the ratio of 12 : 17 : 25 and its perimeter is 540 cm. Find
its area.
OR
An isosceles triangle has perimeter 30 cm and each of the equal sides is 12 cm.
Find the area of the triangle.
29. Find the value of ‘a’ for which the equation 2x + ay = 5 has (1, -1) as a solution.
Find two more solutions for the equation obtained.

30. BE and CF are two equal altitudes of a triangle ABC. Using RHS congruence rule,
prove that the triangle ABC is isosceles.
OR
If two isosceles triangles have a common base, prove that the line joining
their vertices bisects them at right angles.
31. In countries like USA and Canada, temperature is measured in Fahrenheit, whereas
in countries like India, it is measured in Celsius. Here is a linear equation that converts
Fahrenheit to Celsius:

(ii) If the temperature is 95°F, what is the temperature in Celsius?

33. The side QR of ∆PQR is produced to a point S. If the bisectors of ∠PQR and

34. ABCD is a rhombus. Show that diagonal AC bisects ∠A as well as ∠C and


diagonal BD bisects ∠B as well as ∠D.
OR

If diagonals of a cyclic quadrilateral are diameters of the circle through the vertices
of the quadrilateral, prove that it is a rectangle.

35. The following table gives the distribution of students of two sections according to
the marks obtained by them.

36. CASE STUDY 1.
Two parallel beams EG and FH are supported using two poles AC and BD making
angles 700 and 600 respectively as shown in the figure. If the beams EG and
FH are also parallel to the ground ON, then answer the following questions.

(i) What will be the measure of the ∠HYD? (1)
(ii) What will be the measure of the ∠BTG? (1)
(iii) What will be the sum of the ∠YXC and ∠SXF? (2)
OR
What will be the sum of the ∠YXC and ∠XST?

37. CASE STUDY 2.


A class teacher gave students colored paper in the shape of a quadrilateral. She
asked them to make a parallelogram from it using paper folding.

Now answer the following questions:


(i) One angle of a quadrilateral is 108° and the remaining three angles
are equal, then find each of the three equal angles. (1)

(ii) In the figure, ABCD and AEFG are two parallelograms. If ∠C = 60°,
then ∠F is equal to? (1)

(iii) If the angles of the quadrilateral are in the ratio 2:5:4:1,
Find the largest angle in the quadrilateral.
OR
Find the second largest angle in the quadrilateral. (2)

38. CASE STUDY 3.


Once four friends Rahul, Arun, Ajay and Vijay went for a picnic at a hill station. Due
to peak season, they did not get a proper hotel in the city. The weather was fine so they
decided to make a conical tent at a park. They were carrying 300 m² cloth with them. As
shown in the figure they made the tent with height 10 m and diameter 14 m.

(i) What is the slant height of the tent? (1)


(ii) What is the area of the floor? (1)

(iii) How much cloth was used for making the tent? (2)

What is the volume of the tent?
