AI OUTLOOK:
10 PREDICTIONS
INTRODUCTION
Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) was probably the most
talked-about technology of 2024, and it won’t go away in 2025.
However, there is a new twist coming in GenAI called agentic AI.
Agentic AI is based on AI agents that use vast amounts of data
from various sources to learn and reason. Besides completing
repetitive work that humans have traditionally performed, AI agents
can plan, make intelligent decisions and improve their performance
over time.
Agentic AI has been called “the next frontier in AI,” so it’s no surprise
we’ve seen a wave of 2025 predictions around this emerging
technology. One expert predicts “Agentic will be the word of the
year in 2025.”

Charlie Boyle, VP of DGX Platforms at Nvidia
“The dawn of agentic AI will drive demand for near-instant responses from
complex systems of multiple models. This will make high-performance
inference just as important as high-performance training infrastructure. IT
leaders will need scalable, purpose-built and optimized accelerated computing infrastructure
that can keep pace with the demands of agentic AI to deliver the performance required for
real-time decision-making.”
John Roese, Global CTO & Chief AI Officer at Dell Technologies
“’Agentic’ will be the word of the year in 2025. The birth of agentic AI
architecture marks a new chapter in human-AI interaction. Generative
AI (GenAI) tools are evolving to enable AI agents, which are poised to
revolutionize how we engage with AI systems.”
Debojyoti Dutta, VP of Engineering at Nutanix
“GenAI leadership is open, small and global. We will see a lot of open
permissible models that can do as well, if not better than closed models.
We will also see open reasoning models too. In addition, models will also get
compressed by learning from bigger/powerful models.”
“Multi-agent AI or systems of cooperating agents will take center stage. This will involve
a collection of AI agents working cooperatively and will need new people, processes
and technology to enable this in the enterprise. I also anticipate agents will negotiate with
other agents.”
Oliver Parker, VP, Vice President, Global Generative AI
Go-To-Market at Google Cloud
“As AI agents become more popular in businesses, they’ll be able to manage
complex workflows, automate business processes and support employees.
Imagine customer agents providing support with a consistent experience across channels —
in person, online and mobile. Employee agents will be able to streamline internal processes;
creative agents will enhance design and production skills.”

Ece Kamar, Managing Director of Microsoft’s AI Frontiers Lab
“In 2025, a lot of conversation will be about drawing the boundaries around
what agents are allowed and not allowed to do, and always having human
oversight.”
Jeff Clarke, Vice Chairman and COO, of Dell Technologies
“’AI agents are software systems that can plan, make decisions and take
action to achieve pre-defined goals. They will be everywhere next year and
will have a big impact on how we use AI. By 2028 Gartner predicts that
one-third of GenAI interactions will use AI agents and action models for task completion.
Next year, agents will evolve from passive applications requiring human input to multiagent
systems that operate independently. Humans will soon have a whole team of agents,
making everyone a manager. This will lead to mass customization as work experiences and
intelligent applications become more tailored.”
“Current use case POCs in customer service, marketing and software development will
expand into vertical solutions and even generalist AI agents. At Dell, we’re experimenting
with agents to help teams sort through content and code artifacts and other knowledge
bases and sharing our early adoption key learnings with our customers.”
Kari Briski, VP of Vice President of Generative AI Software
of Nvidia
“Enterprises are set to have a slew of AI agents, which are semiautonomous,
trained models that work across internal networks to help with customer
service, human resources, data security and more. To maximize these efficiencies, expect to
see a rise in AI orchestrators that work across numerous agents to seamlessly route human
inquiries and interpret collective results to recommend and take actions for users.”
Rajiv Ramaswami, CEO of Nutanix
“AI applications in the enterprise are going to become mainstream. Most
companies at this point are in the early stages of adopting generative AI,
and they’re starting to find some good business benefits. For example,
internally at Nutanix we’re targeting a 25% improvement in our developer productivity by
employing generative AI to do things like code generation for unit testing and a bunch of
other functions. So these things are going to start becoming real across multiple facets in
the enterprise, as these newer AI applications come to bear.”

Dee Zepf, Chief Product Officer of Syncro
“In 2025, as we see AI streamline routine tasks within the MSP industry,
the capacity to offer human customer service will become even more
important in standing out in a crowded market. Since AI-driven chatbots and
automated ticketing can handle round-the-clock support for simpler issues, MSPs can focus
human resources on complex, high-value interactions. This shift allows MSPs to enhance
customer satisfaction and build stronger relationships.”
“MSPs will take on more advisory roles, guiding clients on best practices for implementing
and managing AI solutions. In addition, AI-enhanced CRM tools will provide deeper insights
into client needs, enabling MSPs to anticipate issues and offer tailored, proactive support
that drives loyalty and long-term partnerships. As AI and automation take over operational
tasks, MSPs that prioritize personal, consultative relationships will position themselves as
trusted advisors, fostering loyalty and growth in this new AI era.”
Eric Herzog, CMO of Infinidat
“Enterprise storage infrastructure has taken on a new role as the foundation
for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). The adoption of RAG is on
a trajectory to rapidly increase in 2025 as a storage infrastructure-led
architecture that improves the accuracy and speed of AI.”
“RAG is a GenAI-centric framework for augmenting, refining and optimizing the output of AI
models, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Small Language Models (SLMs). It
enables enterprises to ensure that the answers from AI models remain relevant, up-to-date,
and within the right context. With their powerful, generative AI capabilities, AI models power
intelligent chatbots and other natural language processing applications, which are used to
answer user questions by cross-referencing authoritative information sources.”
