1. Is membersHIP TrAnsferAbLe?

Yes, the transfer of membership is allowed and there shall be a transfer fee of US$10,000 payable by the Member upon transfer of Membership. If the transferring Member fails to pay such transfer fee, the intended transferee shall not be admitted as a Member of the Club. Memberships which are transferred to an *Immediate Family Member will not be subjected to a transfer fee but an administrative fee of US$500 shall be payable. *Immediate Family Member refers to spouse and minor, unmarried children of a married Member and in the case of an unmarried Member; it shall mean the Members parents and siblings.

As membership is asset-backed, true asset protection is ensured. The club is insulated from any business or financial risks affecting the Banyan Tree Group, because the assets are held by an independent company, whose shares are held by a trustee shareholder.

Members have access not only to any of the existing properties in BTPC portfolio, but also all new properties that may be acquired by BTPC in the future. Present inventory comprises two to three-bedroom villas at Banyan Tree resorts in Phuket, Bali, Bintan, Seychelles, Lijiang and Ringha; a private four-bedroom villa each in Tuscany, Italy and Provence, France; a twobedroom apartment in London; UK and a two-bedroom apartment in Kyoto, Japan. The Associate Villas portfolio is also available for your use, increasing our existing destinations choices to you. The club has an expanding portfolio of associated villas in more than 24 destinations, with properties currently under development in many new destinations including Kerala, India, Pilos, Greece and Guilin, China.

Yes, there is a cap on membership. However, as the number of destinations offered to members increase, so too will the membership cap. The expanded inventory will thereby ensure that members can continue to enjoy their benefits without compromise.

The earliest that you may make a reservation request for: Non-Peak Period The earliest that you may make your reservation for a non-peak period is nine (9) months in advance of your intended check-in date. Designated Peak Period The earliest that you may make your reservation for a peak period week is twelve (12) months in advance of the first day of the designated peak period week. Designated peak periods are: Christmas week, New Year week, Chinese New Year week, and Easter week. Specific Golden Week Peak Season and other special Japanese Public Holidays apply only to our Kyoto apartment. No peak period surcharge will apply during these periods, but the cancellation policy is very strict and confirmation will depend on availability. Requests are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Your reservation request will not be processed if you have defaulted in the payment of your annual dues, if you do not have the required number of days, or if your use rights have been suspended by the Club.

Yes. Your friends and family are permitted to stay at the villas if you provide the Clubs Central Reservations with the names and addresses of the guests when the booking is made.

Your membership entitles you to two-bedroom or larger villas that are part of our Own Villas portfolio. One-Bedroom and Two-Bedroom villa choices are available at our Associate Villas.

There are two reasons. Firstly, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts are allowed to rent out unoccupied BTPC villas, the rental revenues of which are used to subsidize annual dues. Secondly, maintenance costs of BTPCs villas within Banyan Tree resorts benefit from the economies of scale achieved by the resorts.
