Solve all the questions with appropriate methods and stepwise.
1) The guy cables AB and AC are attached to the top of the transmission tower. The tension
in cable AB is 12 KN. Determine the required tension in T in cable AC such that the net
effect of the two cable tensions is a downward force at point A. determine the magnitude
of the resultant R, of this downward force?

2) The cable AB carries a tension force of 800 N. Determine the moment of about O of this
tension as applied to point A of the slender bar.

3) Use the method of joint and determine the force in each member of the loaded truss shown
in Fig. (a) & (b). All triangles in (a) are equilateral and in (b) are isosceles.

4) Using method of sections determine the forces in members BC, GC and GF of the pin
jointed plane truss shown in fig.

5) In the fink truss shown in fig. (d), the web members BC and EF are perpendicular to the
inclined members at their midpoints. Use the method of sections to determine the force in
members DB, DC and CE.
