1 PURPOSE

The purpose of this IVECO STD. is to define the validity of the IVECO standards identified by the Technical
Code (IVECO STD. No.), in relation to their conditions for correct application.

2 CONDITIONS AND LEVELS OF VALIDITY

The conditions of IVECO standards are the following:


– IVECO Draft Standard
– IVECO Experimental Standard
– IVECO Standard.

2.1 IVECO Draft Standard


This is the draft of each IVECO standard in the process of elaboration. It remains in this condition until
the end of any necessary tests carried out by the IVECO Department/Function experts to whom it is
submitted, by investigation, and/or in any case, until it is issued in one of the conditions described in
points 2.2 or 2.3.
The “IVECO Draft Standard” has no operative validity.

“IVECO Draft Standards” are marked with “DRAFT” or “under investigation” written on the first page.

The editions of “IVECO Draft Standards” are not included in the numbering of the editions of the conse-
quent “IVECO Experimental Standards” or “IVECO Standards” mentioned in points 2.2 and 2.3.

2.2 IVECO Experimental Standard

This is an IVECO Standard issued with operative validity by entering into IVECO TAS filing (see IVECO
STD. 10–0001), but on condition that it is checked by the office which applies it.
Departments using an “IVECO Experimental Standard” should therefore inform the QUALITY Depart-
ment –Norms & Standards Governance about any modifications necessary or convenient when used.
HANDLING ON INTERLEAF

“IVECO Experimental Standards” are marked EXPERIMENTAL on the first page.

The editions of “IVECO Experimental Standards” are included in the numbering the consequent “IVECO
Standards”.

2.3 IVECO Standard

It is the IVECO standard in its final form.


The “IVECO Standard” is issued with operative validity since entered into IVECO TAS filing.
The “IVECO Standard” can be subsequently modified, if necessary or if this is convenient for its applica-
tion by successive editions.

3 REFERENCE METHODS TO IVECO STANDARDS IN TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION

Each IVECO standard is quoted in IVECO documents as follows:

IVECO STD. XX – XXXX

or, if necessary for reasons of space:

I.S. XX – XXXX

These indications do not refer to the condition of the standards or to their edition.
The condition of each standard can be seen from the standard itself, as indicated in points 2.1, 2.2 and
2.3.
