PROCESS JOURNAL

Scriptwriting

I started by writing the script. My focus was to create a simple but clear story. I made sure the dialogue matched
the emotions of the characters and used descriptions to show actions and feelings. Each scene was planned to fit
the main idea of the story.

Planning and Filming

Before filming, I made a storyboard to plan each shot. I chose the locations and decided how the camera would
move or stay still. For lighting, I tested both natural light and lamps to match the mood of the scene. During
filming, I worked hard to record clear sound, including dialogue and background noise.

Editing and Post-production

Editing was where the project came together. I used CapCut to arrange the clips in the right order. Here’s what
I worked on:

● Cutting extra clips to keep the story moving.

● Adjusting colors to make the scenes look more interesting.
● Adding sound effects and music to make the scenes feel more real.

Understanding Cinematic Elements

I learned how different parts of filmmaking change the way the story is told. For example:

● Lighting: Warm colors made happy scenes feel cozy, while cooler colors made tense scenes more serious.
● Camera angles: Close-ups showed emotions better, and wide shots showed the setting.
● Sound: I used music and quiet moments to make the story more emotional.

Final Assessment

Sound Editor and Technician

Being a sound technician and editor has taught me a lot. Using Adobe Premiere Pro, I’ve learned to focus on
details like cutting noise and aligning audio while solving problems creatively. Editing has taught me patience,
time management, and how to stay organized under pressure. Working with others improved my teamwork and
communication skills, and I’ve sharpened my critical listening to catch inconsistencies. Most importantly, I’ve
learned how sound enhances storytelling by creating emotion and atmosphere. This experience has shaped both
my creativity and technical skills.
