Course Objectives:
The main objective of the course is to make the students familiar to how to insert a graphic within a web
page, create a link and table within a web page. Students will be able to independently use and insert
heading levels, insert ordered and unordered lists and use cascading style sheets within a web page. The
objective is also to create, Validate and publish a web page.

Unit – I: Internet and Introduction to HTML


Introduction to Internet: Introduction, use of internet, Software, Internet service Provider,
Search Engine, web pages, Types of web pages: Static and Dynamic web page.
Introduction to HTML: Structure of HTML documents, Basic HTML tags, The Head, the
Body, Colors, Attributes, creating web page, Lists, Types of List: ordered, unordered and
definition list.

Unit-II: Link and Image in HTML


Links: Introduction, Relative Links, Absolute Links, Link Attributes, Using the ID Attribute to
Link within a Document
Images: Putting an Image on a Page, Using Images as Links, Putting an Image in the
Background, Frames, Creating Frames and Frames attributes.

Unit-III: Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and DHTML


CSS: Introduction of Cascading style sheets (CSS), attributes, Types of CSS: External style
sheet, Internal style sheet and Inline style sheet,
DHTML: Introduction to DHTML, Difference between HTML and DHTML.
Unit-IV: Table and Form in HTML
Tables: Creating a Table, Table Headers, Captions, Spanning Multiple Columns, Styling Table
Forms: Basic Input and Attributes, Other Kinds of Inputs, Styling forms with CSS , Forms,
Form attributes, form using table.

Unit-V: XML
Introduction to XML: XML contents, XML declaration, Difference between XML and HTML,
Use of HTML in XML.
