The document outlines two experiments focused on browser history analysis using different forensic tools: Foxton Forensics and Hetman Internet Spy. The Foxton Forensics tool is designed to extract and analyze browsing history data from various web browsers, including features like deleted data recovery and search filters. The Hetman Internet Spy tool similarly allows for the retrieval of browsing history, downloads, and saved logins, demonstrating successful execution of both analyses.

AIM:
Performing Browser History Analysis using Foxton Forensics tool

ABOUT TOOL:

Foxton Forensics Browser History Examiner is a specialized tool within the

Foxton Forensics suite that focuses specifically on analysing and
extracting browser history data from digital devices. Here are some key
features and capabilities of this tool:
1. Browser Support: It is designed to extract browsing history data from
a wide range of web browsers, including popular ones like Google
Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari, and others.
2. Data Extraction: Browser History Examiner can retrieve various types
of browsing data, including URLs visited, dates and times of visits,
webpage titles, and any other relevant metadata associated with
browsing activities.
3. Deleted Data Recovery: Like other components of Foxton Forensics,
Browser History Examiner may have the capability to recover deleted
browsing history entries, allowing investigators to reconstruct a more
comprehensive timeline of the user's online activities.
4. Search and Filter: Investigators can search through the extracted
browser history data using keywords, URLs, or other criteria to identify
specific browsing sessions or activities of interest. Filtering options
may also be available to streamline the analysis process.

INTRODUCTION:

Browser history analysis is a fundamental aspect of digital forensics

that involves examining the browsing activities of individuals on various
web browsers. It plays a crucial role in investigations related to
cybercrimes, unauthorized access, online fraud, and other illicit activities.
By analysing browser history data, investigators can uncover valuable
insights into a user's online behaviour, preferences, and interactions with
websites.
The process typically involves extracting browsing history data from digital
devices such as computers, smartphones, or tablets. This data includes
information such as URLs visited, timestamps of visits, webpage titles, and
other relevant metadata. Investigators then analyse this information using
specialized forensic tools to reconstruct a timeline of the user's web
browsing activities.

Methodology:

The browser history examination was conducted using FOXTON

FORENSICS version 1.20.6. The following steps were followed during the
examination:

Download and Install FOXTON FORENSICS Software.
