Symmetry
Rotational symmetry
A shape has rotational symmetry when it still looks the same after some rotation (of less than one full
turn). One full rotation is 3600.
The fixed point about which the figure can be rotated is called the centre of rotation.
In a complete rotation, the number of times an object looks the same as original is known as
order of rotational symmetry.
An angle through which a figure can be rotated to look exactly the same is called an angle of
rotational symmetry.
Angle of rotational symmetry= 3600
Order of rotational symmetry
In a circle, every diameter is a line of symmetry and every angle is an angle of symmetry.
