File Management – An introduction

I. Answer the following

1. What is a file?

Ans: A file is a collection of data, stored on some storage device.

2. How do you save a file?

Ans: To save a file follow the given steps:

Step 1- Click the File tab. A menu appears.

Step 2- Click the save option. A new window appears.

Step 3- Type the file name in the file name box

Step 4- Click the save button.

II Short cut keyboard commands

1.To select all – Ctrl+A

2. To bold the selected text – Ctrl+B

3. To underline the selected text – Ctrl+U

4. To copy the selected text - Ctrl +C

5. To paste the text – Ctrl+V


III Fill in the blanks

1. To open the WordPad, first click the Start button

2. To save a WordPad file, click the file tab – Save option

3. The Save as option is used to save an already saved file with a new name.
