GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. The question paper has 5 sections A,B,C,D and E
2. Section A has 20 multiple choice questions (MCQs) carrying 1 mark each
3. Section B has 5 short answer – I (SA-I) type questions carrying 2 marks each
4. Section C has 6 short answer – II (SA-II) type questions carrying 3 marks each
5. Section D has 4 long answer – II (LA) type questions carrying 5 marks each
6. Section E has 3 Case based integrated units of assessment ( 4 marks each) with sub parts
of the values of 1,1 and 2 marks each respectively.
7. All questions are compulsory. However an internal choice in 2 questions of 2 marks, 2
questions in 3 marks and 2 questions in 5 marks has been provided. An internal choice has
been provided in the 2 marks questions of section E.
8. Draw neat figure wherever required. Take π = 22/7 wherever required if not stated.

36 A teacher showed a miniature model of Taj Mahal to his students. The teacher explained
about the architecture and said “ In this monument, one can find combination of solid
figures. There are 4 pillars which are cylindrical in shape. Also, 2 small hemispherical
domes at the back side and one big hemispherical dome at the centre. It is the finest
example of the symmetry.
(a) What is the curved surface area of the small dome if its radius is 4.2cm?
(b) How much air is present inside the big dome of radius 7cm?
(c) Find the cost of polishing the two small domes at the rate of Rs 16/cm2

What should be the length of plastic sheet required to cover the surface of the big
dome if the width of the sheet is 14cm.

business is given by the polynomial 4x2 + 12x + 5, which is the product of their
individual shares.
