Strengths
During the design process I was able to form a solid foundation and plan for my game concept.By
consolidating my idea I was able to give a good sense of the atmosphere and aesthetics of my game in my
Game Design document, this is a good asset to have for any future game artists or even other developers to be
able to easily visualise the concept.I was also able to create a good selection of other games and art that
inspired both the visuals and the concept of the game.I am also pleased with the lore and story i was able to
create for the game and although it does not directly impact the gameplay it adds depth to the world as well as
opening up opportunities for further expansion within the games world.Overall i believe my game design could
have been improved but was well rounded and game was well explained making me confident others would be
able to understand the concept.
Action plan
In the future i'd like to learn to make level designs,as although my current game is an infinite runner i believe a
level based system like Rayman could be an interesting change to the games dynamic.By level design i mean
both the environment and the layout of the levels , particularly how to use a levels environment to bypass the
need for a specified tutorial.
This adds up to roughly 10 hours worth of content , my plan for getting through this is twice a week i will do
~30 minutes watching the content then spend the following 30 minutes consolidating/practising what i've
learnt. This will add up too two hours a week with one hour of content watched, i will repeat this for ten weeks.
When i feel confident in my knowledge, will find further resources if this hasn't been accomplished, i will work
on level designs to implement into my game Tick-Tock tail.I will share the plans and possibly a prototype of a
level to peers and my teachers and ask for their opinions and any further steps i should take.
