MODULE: GENERAL SUBJECT METHODOLOGY

CODE: GSM11ES
DUE DATE: 10 MARCH 2025
ASSESSMENT: GROUP ASSIGNMENT

SECTION A
“Experienced teachers sometimes say they don’t have to plan. ‘It’s something you
do while you’re in training,’ they say. But even these teachers plan…casually and
poorly. Research suggests that most teachers – and certainly those teachers
regarded by their peers and learners as good teachers – do plan” (Criticos, Long,
Mays, Moletsane, Mityane, Grosser, De Jager, 2014).

Instructions
1. Plan a detailed lesson plan for a session that will last 60min long, based on your
area of specialization..
2. Use the lesson plan templates provided by the university.
3. Access the lesson plan template as an attachment on your eThuto account.

SECTION B
Assessment is the means we use to gather information about how much our
learners have learnt (Criticos, et. al, 2014). Various assessment methodologies
(strategies), including examinations, evaluations, oral presentations, portfolios, and
comprehensive projects, serve as the instruments utilized to gather this information.
Instructions
1. Develop a well-structured classwork activity based on the above lesson plan.
2. Create a homework activity for your learners based on the lesson topic of the
day.
3. Provide a memorandum for both your activities and the mark allocation of each
question should be clear.
GROUP FORMATION AND PREPARATION
• Group members should be between 5 – 10 individuals.
• All members should be involved in the task.
