1. Draw and label MS layout window 2007, Identify any five features and briefly explain their functions

IDENTIFICATION AND FEATURES

 Title Bar: Located at the top of the window, it displays the name of the document and the application
(Microsoft Word). It also contains the minimize, maximize/restore, and close buttons.

 Ribbon tabs: Introduced in Word 2007, the Ribbon is a dynamic toolbar that organizes commands into tabs
(e.g., Home, Insert, Page Layout). Each tab contains groups of related commands.

 Quick Access Toolbar: Situated above the Ribbon, it provides one-click access to commonly used
commands such as Save, Undo, and Redo. Users can customize this toolbar with their preferred commands.

 Text Area: The large area in the middle of the window where you create and edit your document. It displays
rulers at the top and left side for adjusting margins, tabs, and indents.

 Document information/Status Bar: Located at the bottom of the window, it displays information about the
current document, such as page number, word count, and language. It also includes View options and zoom
controls.

2. What is a mouse pointer? With Practical diagram distinguish between a cursor and mouse pointer.

A mouse pointer is an arrow-like figure that appears on the screen of the computer. It is used to locate the
different icons on the screen. It can move across the screen.

The cursor, however, is a blinking line that appears whenever you type something on the computer. It can be

3. Distinguish between the following:

i Start button and power button


ANSWER
The Start button is typically found on the taskbar of a Windows operating system. Clicking on it opens the Start
menu, which provides access to various functions, programs, settings, and documents.
WHILE
The Power button is a physical button usually located on the computer case or keyboard. Its primary function is
to turn the computer on or off.

ii Tittle bar and task bar


ANSWER
The Title bar is located at the top of the application window or dialog box and It displays the name of the current
window or application, such as the name of the document in a word processor or the title of a web page in a
browser.
WHILE
The taskbar lets you locate and launch programs through Start and the Start menu or view any
currently open program

iii Status bar and popup menu


ANSWER
The Status bar is a horizontal bar typically located at the bottom of a window or application interface.
WHILE
A Popup menu, also known as a Context menu or right-click menu, is a menu that appears when the
user right-clicks on an object or area within an application interface.

iv My Computer and recycle bin


ANSWER
My Computer is a feature on Windows operating systems that shows you all of the drives and devices
connected to their computer. It allows you to easily access files and folders stored on their computer.
WHILE
The recycle bin on the desktop is a smart folder that shows you the files that you have trashed, and
allows you to restore them.
v Find and replace

The Find function allows you to locate a particular number or text string,
