3. Karen promised Sara that she would give half of her remaining money to Sara after giving 7/8 of
it to her favorite charity. If Karen gave $672 to her favorite charity, how much money will Sara
receive?

4. Gary works at Ghosts and Goblins, a Halloween store. He puts orange, black, and white
Halloween candies in boxes. After he fills a box, 1/4 is orange, 1/6 is black, and 21 are white.
How many candies does Gary put in each box?

5. Benjamin found a bag of money. He decided to give 1/2 of the money to his best friend, 1/4 of the
money to his sister, 1/8 of the money to his mother, and 1/16 of the money to his dad. The amount
of money that was left was $1.25. How much money was in the bag when Benjamin found it?

6. A Drug Store parking lot has space for 1000 cars. 2/5 of the spaces are for compact cars. On
Tuesday, there were 200 compact cars and some standard size cars in the parking lot. The parking lot
was 3/4 full. How many standard size cars were in the parking lot?

7. John gave half of his stamps to Jim. Jim gave half of his stamps to Carla. Carla gave 1/4 of the
stamps given to her to Thomas and kept the remaining 12. How many stamps did John start with?

8. A school has 10 classes with the same number of students in each class. One day, the weather was
bad and many students were absent. 5 classes were half full, 3 classes were 3/4 full and 2 classes
were 1/8 empty. A total of 70 students were absent. How many students are in this school when no
students are absent?

9. Water conservation can be a big problem in some parts of the world. If a community's water pump
drips 3 drops every second and each drop is 1 1/3 ml, how much water in litres will be wasted in one
year?

10. Shane the Snail started at the dot. What side will he be on when he has crawled 13/20 of the
distance around the regular pentagon of equal sides? (Assume the snail moves in a clockwise
direction)
