PUBLIC FUNDS TYPES OF ACCOUNTS

➢ Public Funds are Government funds, annually


allocated by the Treasury to every Ministry, based on the
National Budget estimates approved by the Parliament.
Auditor General will audit the Public funds.
➢ The financial period of public funds starts from
1st of January and will be closed on 31st December of
each year.
NON - PUBLIC FUNDS
➢ Non-Public Funds are the funds, not being public
funds appertaining to a Unit, and will be kept distinct from
Imprest Accounts (which account for public money.(
Example – Regimental funds)
➢ These Non-public funds are also called Army
Funds and no relations with Public funds. These accounts
are closed quarterly and the balances will be carried
forward to the next quarter.
