family, and enjoy this break.

1. To verify by paper cutting and pasting, that the sum of the exterior angles drawn in order, of any
polygon is 3600. Draw a triangle on a coloured sheet. Make exterior angles in an order at each
vertex of this triangle and name them as X, Y and Z as shown in fig 3(a). Cut out all the three
exterior angles. Paste them on another sheet of paper at a point P so that there is no gap between
them as shown in fig 3(b).

1. Find the perimeter of a parallelogram with sides 9cm and 5cm.
2. Find the perimeter of a rhombus whose diagonals are 16cm and 12cm
3. The adjacent angles of a parallelogram are in the ratio 5:4 . Find all the angles.

6. 5 books and 5 paper sheets are placed in a stack. Find the total thickness of the stack if each book
has a thickness of 20 mm and each sheet has a thickness of 0.016 mm.
7. Calculate the missing value of “x” in the following expression: (11/9)3 × (9/11)6 = (11/9)2x-1
8. What should be added to 5xy – 8yz + 6zx to get 12xy – 6zx + 40yz +70?
9. Take away, (7y3 + 17y2 + 5y +12) from (19 – 15y2)
10. The denominator of a fraction is 7 more than the numerator. If 1 is added to the numerator and 6 is added
to the denominator, the value of the fraction will be 1⁄2.Find the numerator and the denominator.
11. Simplify : 12x – {15y – (x – 2y)} and find the value of expression when x = -2, y =1
