L3273 Rev. B 2 of 5 Installation instructions The Annual Performance Kit for Spectra or Encore comprises two separate kits. One kit is for the Vmax Spectra or Encore and one is for the 62J or 62JW Autobox. One or both kits may be required to install the necessary parts, depending on the system configuration. The O2 cell, part number 776206 (not Included), should be replaced annually. If you have a Vmax 29 or Vmax 229 that has the Dilution/Ventilator option (check Vmax software Help/About for installed options) we recommend that you replace the 9 volt alarm battery (not included) inside the Vmax module. See the Vmax operator’s manual routine maintenance and parts replacement sections for the O2 cell and 9 volt battery replacement instructions. Neither kit is required for the Encore 20C. The only part used on the Encore 20C that is included in the Encore kit is part number 769288, TUBE ASSY DIRECTION SENSE VMAX. This part should be purchased separately for the Encore 20C. Kit part number 11966 is needed for the 62J or 62W. This kit contains all parts necessary for the system if the Vmax external arm is not being used for patient testing. These parts are shown in the following table.
If the system is using both the Autobox and the Vmax external arm, kit 11965 will also be required. After all necessary parts have been replaced, the mass flow sensor and gas analyzers should be recalibrated and Bio Standard tests should be performed to verify proper system operation.

B 3 of 5 Autobox 62J or 62W models: Installation Instructions Install the kit PN 11966 parts as needed: 1. 775319 CAP/Diaphragm Assembly Vmax SPECTRA: Remove and replace both cap diaphragm assemblies on breathing valve 775321. 2. 868957 Diaphragm Silicone: Remove the Cap Tube Valve Body that covers the silicone diaphragm on the breathing valve, 775321, and replace the silicone diaphragm. 3. 769524-102 Tube Assembly D+ Direction V62J: Remove and replace the direction sense tube between the mass flow sensor and the D+ (Red) port on the Autobox pass-through plate. 4. 769521-102 Tube Assembly 2 Lumen V62J: Remove and replace the two-lumen tubes connected between the breathing valve 775321 and the Transmural (White) and Gas Test (Black) fittings on the Autobox pass-through plate. 5. 769525 Tube Assembly Sample Permapure: Remove and replace the sample tube connected between the mass flow sensor and the sample port on the Autobox pass-through plate. 6. 835289 O-ring NPRN .301ID .438OD: Turn off the DLCO gas supply and disconnect the DLCO gas supply hose from the rear of the Vmax module. Remove and replace the o-ring on the quick disconnect fitting attached to the DLCO gas supply hose. Note: Some Vmax models may not use this gas. 7. 462783 O-ring BUNA .171ID .07THK .31OD: First, turn off the O2 and Cal Gas 1 supplies that are connected to the Vmax module. Next, remove the O2 and Cal Gas 1 supply hoses from the rear of the Vmax module and replace the o-ring on the quick disconnect fittings on each hose. Turn off the Cal Gas 1 supply that is connected to the Autobox. Remove the Cal Gas 1 supply hose from the side panel of the Autobox electronics/pneumatics enclosure and replace the o-ring on the quick disconnect fitting on this hose. 8. 772551 Tube Assembly SO/SI Permpapure: Remove and replace the SO/SI tube that is connected between the green ports labeled SO and SI on the rear of the Vmax module. 9. 774611-101 Breathing Hose 22MM FLRD 78"LG Vmax SPEC: Remove and replace the 22mm 78” clear corrugated hose located between the TEST MIX Port on the rear of the Vmax module and the 22 mm white test mix adapter port on the Autobox electronics/pneumatics enclosure side panel. 10. 774611-102 Breathing Hose 22MM FLRD 40"LG Vmax SPEC: Remove and replace the 22 mm 40 in. clear corrugated hose located between the Test Mix port on the Autobox pass-through plate to the breathing valve, part number 775321. Connect the end of the hose with the longer, smooth surface to the breathing valve.

B 4 of 5 11. 769526 Tube Assembly 4 Lumen- V6200: Remove and replace the 4 Lumen tube assembly on the rear of the Vmax module to the side panel of the Autobox electronics/pneumatics enclosure. Attach the end of the 4 Lumen tube that does not have a green fitting to the rear of the Vmax module. Push the tube with no fitting onto the Vmax module BxB barb fitting, connect the red fitting to the red dir+ port, attach the blue fitting to the blue dir- port, and the white fitting to the white PES port. The connections on the Autobox are white to PES, blue to D-, red to D+, and green to BXB.
