From the top of a cliff 40 m high, the angle of depression of an object is 34o.
(i) Complete the diagram to demonstrate this data [1]
(ii) How far is the object from the base of the cliff? [2]

a) If Heathrow’s bearing from Manchester is 160 what is Manchester’s bearing from
Heathrow?
o
b) If Liverpool’s bearing from Manchester is 244 , what is Heathrow’s bearing from Liverpool?

A ship begins its journey at point A and travels 70 km on a bearing of 027 0 to point B, and
then travels to point C on a bearing of 1470 for 180 km.

(i) Complete the diagram to demonstrate this data.

(ii) Find the distance of the end of the trip from the starting point.

Radio antennae are set up at points A and B, which are 200 m apart on an east-west line.

It is found that the bearing of the signal at A from a transmitter (T) is 0360.
The bearing of the same signal at B from T is 0430.
(i) Complete the diagram to demonstrate this data.
(ii) Find the distance of the transmitter from B.
