A. Introduction: This course is designed to equip students with the necessary skills
to perform data analysis using Excel. Excel is a powerful tool that is widely used
in the business world for data management and analysis. This course will provide
an overview of data analysis in Excel, introduce you to the Excel interface, and
teach you how to use basic and advanced Excel formulas and functions. You will
learn how to clean and prepare data for analysis, perform descriptive and
inferential statistics, create and format pivot tables and charts, and use macros
and VBA. The course will also cover how to work with large data sets, create
effective data visualizations, design and automate dashboards, and collaborate
and share Excel files. The course will conclude with a final project where you will
apply the skills you have learned to a real-world data analysis problem.
B. Course Outcomes:
CO1: Introduce students to the fundamental concepts and techniques of data analysis in
Excel.
CO2: Equip students with the skills to perform basic and advanced Excel functions and
formulas for data analysis.
CO3: Teach students how to clean, prepare, and manage data in Excel for analysis.
CO4: Enable students to perform descriptive and inferential statistics in Excel.
CO5: Train students to create effective data visualizations, design and automate dashboards,
and collaborate and share Excel files.

Models: Understanding in detail, the contents of various functional areas of Business &

organizations.

approach towards rational decision making.

Attendance A minimum of 75% Attendance is required to be
(Formative) maintained by a student to be eligible to appear for the
ETE. The allowance of 25% includes all types of leaves
including medical leaves.
Homework/ Home There are situations where a student may have to work in
Assignment/ Activity home, especially before a flipped classroom. Some of these
Assignment works are graded with marks. A student is expected to
(Formative) participate and perform these assignments with full zeal
since the activity/ flipped classroom participation by a
student will be assessed and marks will be awarded.
