Are human abilities determined by the world that flows like water?

Imagine a student in a rural village trying to complete homework without internet

access, while their counterpart in a developed country streams live lectures and collaborates
online. This stark contrast highlights the digital divide. This disparity affects education,
economic opportunities, healthcare, and social inclusion. For the student in the rural village,
limited resources mean relying on outdated textbooks or sporadic teacher support, while the
student in the developed country benefits from real-time access to vast educational content,
virtual classrooms, and global peer networks. The digital divide creates a cycle of inequality
by limiting access to education and job opportunities, with developing countries facing the
greatest challenges, though marginalized groups in developed nations are not exempt from its
impact.

The digital divide significantly increases access to quality education over estimated
12 million students don't have adequate internet access at home. With influence between
developed and developing countries because time goes by resulting in continuous
development. Research shows that urban students enjoy more abundant cultural and
educational resources and have access to more extracurricular practice opportunities and a
high-quality education environment, which is conducive to the improvement of
comprehensive quality. In contrast, the rural social environment is relatively unitary, and the
lack of various learning promotion factors leads to the narrow knowledge contact area of
student (Abdul Talib,2024). Students without internet access are at a distinct disadvantage
because they lose out on the opportunity to practice computer skills, are closed off from
outside research, and may fall behind in their lessons (ICF,2022). For example, students who
attend private and state schools certainly have different abilities based on the material they
receive. This is what influences and hones each student's ability to utilize digital devices in
their country. Digital divide represents the gap between individuals who have easy access to
resources to the internet. Without access to the internet we cannot participate as easily in
society or invest as easily in their education and skills (IEEE,2022)

The digital divide also creates unequal employment opportunities, making it difficult
for individuals without access to technology to compete in modern job markets. According to
Maria (2021), ‘’Technologies found that jobs requiring digital skills pay an average of 18%
more than those that do not”. Remote gig work provided alternatives to in-person work
during the COVID-19 pandemic, but digital inequality literature suggests that such
opportunities are not equally available to all (University of southern California,2021). In
essence, people who do not have skills in using digital media cannot work in several
companies because now companies have criteria referring to technological advances in
developing countries. And nowadays there is AI which replaces some people's jobs by
employing robots. Nowadays it is difficult to get a job because of technological advances
(Tim park, 2017)
People who live in rural areas are left behind compared to people in urban areas due
to lack of connectivity. Child's family's social economic status can affect their academic
achievement more than the school they attend. For example, There is a child who really
wants to go to school and has high intelligence but is forced to stop going to school because
his family doesn't have enough money. Another child goes to school easily but is very lazy
and dismissive (Vaunghan Angela, 2021). The difference in opportunities between cities and
rural communities has always existed, but the rapid expansion of city populations is creating
a huge attainment gap between rural and city dwelling children. Rural communities often face
higher teacher shortages, dangerous or long journeys to school, and can receive an education
that is lacking in comparison to their city-dwelling peers (Josephine, 2018). The side effect
that is clearly visible is the affordability of the internet that can be accessed. Rural children
will face further challenges besides losing education and poverty. Economic hardships may
force them to work in farms for a living, which may compromise their health, safety, and,
above all, the sense of self-worth (Nathan, 2020). These example are Ilustrate that happened
in rural area.

Technological progress has had an enormous effect on work, jobs, and skills, as well
as employment throughout the history of mankind. Digital skills can help you find and apply
for jobs. They make it easier to prepare for an interview and help you succeed, said in
National carrer service. This means that in this era, if you don't have digital skills, you will be
left out or even laid off. An article said that the fact of matter’s is , you’re going to experience
a lot of rejection as a recent graduate, especially if you aren’t coming from top tier university
(Park Tim,2017).haven't had time to worry about work, but now some human jobs have been
replaced by AI Undoubtedly, the biggest concern that people have had over the past few
years is the sudden rapid evolution of AI and its much-hyped products such as ChatGPT
(Filipenco Danili, 2024). low representation of low-income people in digital jobs and high-
paying jobs because of the gap that occurs due to the digital divide and its visible effects that
continue after education and before employment

The digital divide remains a significant barrier to equal education and employment
opportunities worldwide, particularly between developed and developing countries. While
wealthier nations benefit from widespread internet access, advanced technology, and digital
literacy programs, many developing countries struggle with inadequate infrastructure and
limited access to digital tools. This disparity affects students' ability to learn, gain new skills,
and compete in an increasingly technology-driven job market. Bridging this gap requires
collective efforts from governments, educational institutions, and private organizations to
invest in technology, improve internet accessibility, and provide digital literacy training.
Parents and students must also advocate for better resources and take advantage of available
online learning platforms. In conclution, we can create a more inclusive future where all
individuals, regardless of their location or economic background, have equal opportunities to
succeed in education and employment.
