Project Proposal
CDM A FUTURE READY CAMPUS: A CLOUD INFRASTRACTURE PROPOSAL FOR
MODERN EDUCATIONAL NEEDS

Project Overview
-Implementing a cloud infrastructure will significantly enhance the operational efficiency,
flexibility, and security of educational institutions. By leveraging the scalable and robust services
offered by leading cloud providers, schools and colleges can better support their educational
missions and administrative functions.

-This proposal provides a comprehensive overview of setting up a cloud infrastructure tailored for
Colegio De Montalban. It emphasizes scalable solutions, security, and cost-effectiveness to ensure
the infrastructure meets current and future needs.

Project Objectives
Objectives
1. Facilitate online learning and remote collaboration.
- Enhance data security and compliance.
2. Provide scalable resources to accommodate varying workloads.
- Reduce IT management overhead.
3. Core Components
• -Cloud Service Provider (CSP)
• Choose a reliable CSP such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure. Each of these
providers offers comprehensive services suitable for educational institutions.
• -Computing Resources
• Virtual Machines (VMs): Provision VMs for running applications, development
environments, and administrative tools.
• Example: AWS EC2, Google Compute Engine, Azure Virtual Machines.
• Container Services: For scalable deployment of applications.
• Example: AWS ECS/EKS, Google Kubernetes Engine, Azure Kubernetes Service.
• Storage Solutions
• Object Storage: For storing large amounts of unstructured data such as documents,
images, and videos.
• Example: AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage.
• Block Storage: For high-performance applications requiring low-latency storage.
• Example: AWS EBS, Google Persistent Disks, Azure Disk Storage.
• File Storage: For shared file systems.
• Example: AWS EFS, Google Filestore, Azure Files.
• -Networking
• Virtual Private Cloud (VPC): Isolate the cloud infrastructure for security and manage
internal traffic.
• Example: AWS VPC, Google VPC, Azure Virtual Network.

• Content Delivery Network (CDN): Speed up content delivery for global access.
• Example: AWS Cloud Front, Google Cloud CDN, Azure CDN.
• -Security
• Identity and Access Management (IAM): Manage user permissions and access.
• Example: AWS IAM, Google Cloud IAM, Azure AD.
• Encryption: Ensure data at rest and in transit is encrypted.
• Example: AWS KMS, Google Cloud KMS, Azure Key Vault.
• Security Monitoring: Implement tools for monitoring and responding to security threats.
• Example: AWS Cloud Trail, Google Cloud Security Command Center, Azure Security
Center.
• -Management and Monitoring
• Management Console: Centralized interface for managing cloud resources.
• Example: AWS Management Console, Google Cloud Console, Azure Portal.
• Monitoring Tools: For performance and health monitoring of resources.
• Example: AWS CloudWatch, Google Stackdriver, Azure Monitor.

4. Implementation Plan
• -Assessment and Planning
• Conduct a needs assessment to understand the specific requirements of the institution.
• Develop a detailed plan outlining the cloud services needed, migration strategy, and
timeline.
• -Setup and Configuration
• Set up accounts and necessary permissions.
• Configure networking, security settings, and resource provisioning.
• Migrate existing data and applications to the cloud.
• Training and Support
• Provide training sessions for IT staff and end-users.
• Establish a support system for ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Testing and Optimization
• Conduct thorough testing to ensure all systems function as expected.
• Optimize resources for performance and cost-efficiency.

5. Budget Considerations
• Initial Setup Costs: Costs associated with the initial setup, migration, and training.
• Ongoing Costs: Monthly/annual costs for cloud services, including compute, storage, and
support.
• Scalability: Budgeting for potential scalability to accommodate growth.
