1 A brief introduction
Welcome to a world of new possibilities. Inject should
be seen as a platform rather than a single magic trick. It
is practically the „Swiss army knife“ of electronic magic.
It currently comes with 23 different effects plus the
classic Google Peek effect, which can be used in many
different versions. Also, many users have created their
own effects (I am currently aware of about 180, many of
which include a simple card prediction). These can be
incorporated by other users with more or less effort. An
export-import function has been promised for version
3.0. These effects can be divided into 23 different categories, although the included effects only
cover 11 categories, or are explained in the online manual. Inject works in different ways: with some
effects the spectator has a free choice and the magician can „mentally sense“ them or even generate
a prediction with them, with others a choice is forced. For this purpose, the personal, fake „Googled
page“, various transmitters, receivers and functions are available, which will be discussed in more
detail in the following chapters. Some effects only work with transmitters, others only with receivers,
and some work with both. The Inject App is therefore sometimes used to send values or receive
values. The transmission of a value is also called „Thump“, a transmitter is also called „Thumper“.
Historically, this comes from the days of stage magic, when signals were transmitted by tapping and
stamping feet instead of using ear buds. For some effects the app is not needed at all.

None of the inject effects is particularly difficult to perform, but you have to make certain settings
here and there before the performance, and most importantly, a stable Internet connection must be
available. All effects run via the Inject server in California. And as with any magic effect, in order to
perfect it, you should practice it. Since Inject works on all mobile phones and PCs with various
browsers, but each browser behaves a little differently, there are a few things to consider for some
effects, so that the nosy spectator can then examine his mobile phone thoroughly without finding
anything suspicious. Other effects can be demonstrated without any problems, without leaving any
traces on the spectator's phone.

None of the Inject effects require special manual skills, except for „swiping“ on the phone. By swiping
on the display, you enter a combination of „up, down, right, left“ signals, which are converted by the
Inject app into a card value, a time, city, name, movie or even a URL, for example. Instead of swiping
on the display, you can also use a small Bluetooth remote control. Magicians who work with an
assistant can also let him type in the value. However, by far you don't have to swipe a value for all
effects, but often you only receive the value the spectator is thinking of. Nevertheless you can't avoid
to learn and practice different swiping schemes for the effects that transmit values, if you don't have
the luxury of a personal assistant. These are all logically structured and can be quickly memorized in
a few minutes.

As the length of the manual and the table of contents already reveal, you can get lost in the amount
of possibilities Inject offers. But for the magician who performs in front of an audience for money, it
should be worth the time to study the complete manual. All known pitfalls and problems that can
occur are addressed.

However, in order not to make the matter too tedious, I recommend to read only the chapters

10
„Installation“ and „the Inject-Interface“ at the beginning to get a rough overview. After that you can
already try the first effects like „Google-Peek“.

These can be found in Chapter - 4 - Inject effects by category - performing the first effects. If you
have experimented a little with the effects 4.1 - Google-Peek, 4.2 - Lazy Inject, 4.3 - Super Lazy
Inject and 4.4 - Delayed Thump, you should have a look at Chapter 6 - Swipe schemes and
combinations and Chapter 8 - Receivers.

Thereafter you can certainly successfully manage the effect categories 4.8 - List/Card Value Effects -
via Googled Page to YouTube & co. & 4.9 - Image receiver effects, 4.10 - Web album effects (mind
reading, free choice), 4.12 - Web album effects (forcing or spectator reads the magician's thoughts),
4.6 - Hidden input using qp and qm & 4.13 - Web album effect for larger groups .

The advanced effect categories 4.5 - qp-mode - covert typing of text & 4.7 - Concatenated search
requires to learn a good part of Chapter 9 - The Googled page in detail.

Effect categories 10 and 13-18 are for more advanced users, as you will also need to make changes
to existing effect templates or create your own effects. However, with a little assistance in setting
them up on my part, they can also be demonstrated by beginners.

Chapter 18 - Creating & editing your own effects provides the necessary background knowledge.
With a work like this, it is impossible to avoid jumping between chapters. On the one hand, many
effects are easy to demonstrate. But to make everything „bulletproof“, you have to consider many
details. Most of the chapters have been written based on experiences, questions about Inject,
accessories and problems that various members of the Facebook group had expressed. The
questions & problems often led to new ideas, which after extensive test sequences led to new
solutions, routines & effects. Whereas the questions of beginners are more like „What is Inject doing
now?“, the statements become more like „Inject has never done that before“ as the expertise
increases. For this I am at your disposal with pleasure. So, let the show begin!
