Practical Title: Design Your Own Human Skeleton

Practical Overview:

In this Practical, learners will engage in a hands-on activity to design and create a
human skeleton model. Through this Practical, they will gain a deeper understanding of
the structure and function of the human skeletal system. By using materials such as
clay, paper mache, or other craft supplies, learners will have the opportunity to be
creative while demonstrating their knowledge of bone structure and anatomy.

Objectives:

1. To understand the structure and function of the human skeletal system.

2. To apply knowledge of bone anatomy to create an accurate representation of a

human skeleton.

3. To develop creativity and craftsmanship through the design process.

4. To communicate knowledge effectively through the completed Practical.

Materials:

1. Craft materials such as clay, paper mache, cardboard, wire, etc.

2. Reference materials on human skeletal anatomy (books, online resources, diagrams,

etc.).

3. Scissors, glue, markers, paint, or any other decoration materials as desired.

4. Workspace for designing and creating the skeleton model.

2

Instructions:

1. Research: Begin by researching the human skeletal system. Use reference materials
to understand the bones of the human body, their names, locations, and functions. Pay
attention to details such as size, shape, and connections between bones.

2. Planning: Sketch a design or layout for your skeleton model. Decide on the materials
you will use and how you will represent each bone. Consider factors such as scale,
proportions, and articulation (joints).

3. Gather Materials: Collect the necessary materials for constructing your skeleton
model. Be creative in your choices, and consider how each material will best represent
the bones of the skeleton.

4. Construction: Begin building your skeleton model according to your design plan.
Pay close attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring that each bone is represented
correctly. Take your time and be patient as you work through the construction process.

5. Decoration: Once the basic structure of the skeleton is complete, you can add
details and decorations as desired. Use paint, markers, or other materials to add
texture, color, and labels to the bones. Be creative and have fun with this step!

6. Presentation: Once your skeleton model is finished, prepare a presentation to

showcase your work. Explain the process you followed, the materials you used, and any
challenges you encountered along the way. Be prepared to answer questions about the
anatomy and function of the human skeletal system.
