Joseph Lesson Plan

The lesson plan aims to teach students about 1-way switches, including their description, wiring installation, and safety precautions. It includes materials and tools needed, a discussion on the function of a 1-way switch, safety reminders, and a step-by-step wiring guide. The plan also features evaluation questions and an assignment for further research on 3-way and 4-way switch connections.

Class have you seen a light that less expensive and easy to install in your house?

Presentation of the lesson

This time we will learn how to install a 1-way switch

Discussion:
A one-way switch is the simplest form of switch used in electrical circuits. It operates as a single-
pole, single-throw (SPST) switch, meaning it has two positions—ON and OFF. This type of switch is
common in residential and commercial lighting systems, where it controls a single light or appliance
from one location.

Trade terms:
1. Energize- to give energy or supply with an electric current.(PHYSICS)
2. Terminals- where the wire is part of an electrical wire that is connected or screws.
3. THHN- thermoplastic,high, Heat , Nylon

Combination plier
Side cutting plier
Multi- tester
Philips screw driver
Standard screw driver

*Precations and Reminders:

In any electrical works, safety precautions comes first. That’s why we also need to discuss some safety
precautions In order to achieve a safer and better result of works
So what are the reminders:

Safety Precautions:
1. Always wear personal protective equipment( PPE)
2. Always have presence of mind while working.
3. Do not connect directly to the source current.
4. Make sure that the two opposite lines not be contact With each other.
5. Used appropriate tools in joining two wires.
6. Test the circuit before connecting it to the source current
How to Wire a Single-Pole Light Switch

1. Connect the Line 1 into the switch

2. Connect the switch into the bulb
3. Connect the bulb wire into the Line 2
4. Test the Line 1 and 2 if the connection have a continuity
5. Open the breaker and switch on the light.

D. Abstraction/Generalization
Now that we had already identify the steps in 1-way switch connections lets have a litle recap.

B. The live wire
C. The light fixture or appliance
D. The neutral terminal
3. When connecting wires to the screw terminals on a switch, in which direction should the wire be
wrapped around the screw?
