Example_Problems_Set3

The document presents a set of example problems related to structural analysis using the conjugate beam method. It includes five problems focusing on calculating slopes and deflections at various points of a beam with constant EI. Each problem specifies different support conditions and asks for specific outcomes, such as maximum deflection and forces needed to achieve zero deflection.

CE272: Structural Analysis

Example Problems - Set 3

1. Use the conjugate beam method to find the slope at A and maximum deflection of the beam. EI
is constant.

2. Use the conjugate beam method to find the slope and deflection at B. EI is constant.

3. Use the conjugate beam method to find the slope at A and deflection at B. EI is constant. Assume
the support at A is a pin and C is a roller.
4. Use the conjugate beam method to determine the force F at the end of the beam at C so that the
deflection at C is zero. EI is constant.

5. Use the conjugate beam method to find the slopes just to the left and just to the right of the pin
(internal hinge) at B. EI is constant. Assume the support at A is fixed and C is a roller.
