GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT WORK (2024-2025)


 Project work may be allotted to a single student or ta group of students not exceeding
4 per group
 Project batches once allotted will not be changed for any reason.
 Project title must be selected after getting approval from the respective guide and
project coordinator. The project coordinator has the right to accept or refuse the title
of the project.
 The project title once finalised cannot be changed for any reason unless the project is
rejected during subsequent reviews.
 Every batch should meet their respective guide and project coordinator at the
beginning of each week (Monday) and get work assigned from them. The status of the
assigned work should be reported at the end of the week (Friday or Saturday) to the
respective guide and project coordinator.
 An assessment record should be maintained by each batch and the status of the project
work should be recorded in it. It is the responsibility of the project batch to get it
signed by the respective guide and project coordinator each week. This will ensures
the progress of the students project work.
 The candidate interested in doing the industrial projects must get prior permission
from the HOD/Institution, failing which the work will not be approved.
 A candidate may however in certain cases be permitted to work on projects in an
Industrial Research organisation, on the recommendations of the HOD. In such cases,
the project work shall be jointly supervised by a supervisor of the department and an
expert as a joint supervisor from the organisation and the student student shall be
instructed to meet the supervisor periodically and to attend the review committee
meetings for evaluating the progress.
 If a candidate fails to submit the project report on or before the specified deadline, he/
She is deemed to have failed in the project work and shall re-enrol for the same in a
subsequent semester
 Failure to meet the project guide or project coordinator will lead to reduction of marks
in the subsequent reviews.
 There shall be three reviews during the semester by the review committee. The total
marks obtained in the three reviews shall be reduced for 20 marks and rounded to the
nearest integer.
 Every batch member should be present for the project review. If a single student fails
to appear for the review the entire batch will not be allowed to present their project in
the review.
 The project batch should make a power point presentation and present their reviews.
The presentation should be presented to their respective guides in advance.
 Each presentation will be for 10 minutes ( to be decided by the project committee at
the initial stages and 20 for the final stages including a demonstration
 A report in word document should be prepared for each review. The report should be
duly approved and countersigned by the respective guide before submitting it at the
time of review. Reports not approved by the guide will not be accepted and the batch
will not be allowed to present in the review.
 Note: Hand-outs of the power Point presentation must not be submitted as the project
Report.
 Marks are awarded to each student of the project group based on the individual
performance in the reviews.
 Any number of re-reviews can happen depending on the discretion of the project
coordinator and project committee and it should happen within the prescribed time.
Note: Projects which are pure survey reports, with no supporting implementation or
theory, are not acceptable.
 Project report/Thesis to be prepared as per the guidelines and format given by Anna
University.
 Absenteeism of reviews will not be entertained for any reasons.
