JD – Android Developer

Wakau is an upcoming destination for short-form mobile video with a mission to inspire creativity and bring
joy. The application has been developed with a global perspective and to perform at scale.

We are looking for an Android Developer who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the
limits. This Android app developer will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next
generation of our mobile applications.

Responsibilities:

 Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform.


 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
 Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
 Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
 Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development
efficiency
 Build reusable code and libraries for future use

Requirment and Qualifications

 Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field.


 A deep familiarity with Kotlin (with at least 6 month of experience) and Java.
 Knowledge of Android architecture, popular 3rd party Libraries & APIs used in Android Development .
 Good understanding of multi-threading, memory management, networking, localization and security
for mobile applications.
 Good foundation around software engineering fundamentals, object-oriented programming, MVVM
architecture, and other design patterns like MVP.
 Experience with modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing (MOKITO & EXPRESSO),
Instrumentation testing, static analysis.
 Have experience with version control systems such as Git, Codebase.
 Have published at least one original Android app.
 Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
 Experienced in agile software development practices automated testing, mob/pair programming,
CI/CD.
 Android, Android Studio, Firebase.
 Database communication with room database (preferred), SQLite, aware of Data storing best
practices.

Big Plus

 Experienced in developing Camera and video recording apps.


 Experience in developing Video, Media apps is big plus
 Good Understanding of Android Player concepts on Video, Audio, synching and EPG understanding.
 Video packaging and transport protocols such as HLS, Video encoding

5+ Years of Android App development experience and particularly proficient in android mobile development.
