C. Presenting Let’s start by reading a short story.

for the new lesson Sam and Jen had a funny pet. Their pet is a big fat pig.
Sam and Jet called it Bob. Every day, Bob the pig likes to dig in the mud and sit
on a log.
“Oh no!” cried Sam. “Bob is full of mud again.
Then, it’s time for Sam and Jen to wash Bob.
And take him to his pen.

So let’s us answer the question from the story with a twist.


I want you all to form a big circle because we will have a game called “pass the
basket” and that basket contains questions. I will be playing music, and once the
music stops and whoever carries the basket will answer the question.

Today, we will be learning about the vowel sound in CVC pattern.
The English alphabet is made up of 26 letters. These letters can be separated into
two groups of sounds. Which are called vowels and consonants.
Alphabet
Vowels- a,e,i,o,u
Consonant-b,c,d,f,g,h,j,k,l,m,n,p,q,r,s,t,v,w,x,y,z
(The students are listening to teacher’s discussion)
With these Alphabet, we can make words with C-V-C patterns.
CVC pattern is a three letter word.
Can you guess what CVC is? C-consonant
Stands for: V-vowel
C-consonant C-consonant
V-vowel
C-consonant

When we combined the three letters, we call it CVC pattern.


The vowel is always at the middle of the two consonant sound.
In our story there are examples of CVC words, can you identify them? Sam, pig, Jen, log, mud, Bob, big, fat, pen
For example:
These word is composed of CVC pattern.

A-vowel
M-consonant
Can you think of another example?
Van, mop, wet, web, can, lip, kit, jet, bit, not, sat, sun
Here are some CVC words with short vowel sound.
