Lab Report 05

The lab report outlines the objectives and procedures for practicing basic modifying tools in AutoCAD, including the Offset, Align, Explode, and Array commands, as well as dimensioning techniques. It details the steps taken to create a 2D drawing using various commands such as Circle, Line, and Trim. The report concludes with a description of the final drawing achieved through these techniques.

Lab Report # 05

Objective:
To practice basic Modifying Tools (Offset, Align, Explode & Array Commands),
dimension command in Annotation Tools and to exercise a 2D Drawing (2D Practice Drawing-
04)

Offset command:
The offset command in AutoCAD is used to create parallel lines, concentric circles, and
parallel curves. We can offset any object through a point or at a specified distance. We can create
as many parallel lines and curves with the help of the offset command.

Align command:
To Align two Objects in 2D:
1. Click Home tab Modify panel Align. Find.
2. Select the objects that you want to align.
3. Specify a source point and then the corresponding destination point. To rotate the object,
specify a second source point followed by a second destination point.
4. Press Enter to end the command.
Explode command:
Breaks a compound object into its component objects. Explodes a compound object when
you want to modify its components separately. Objects that can be exploded include blocks,
polylines, and regions, among others.

Array command:
The array is the command used to draw multiple copies of an object in a
particular pattern or order. We can also manage the distance between the objects in the array. The
shortcut key for Array is AR. To implement an array, we can type Array or AR on the command
line and then press Enter.
Dimension command:
You can create horizontal, vertical, aligned, and radial dimensions with
the DIM command. The type of dimension depends on the object that you select and the direction
that you drag the dimension line. The following illustration demonstrates one method for using the
DIM command.
Practice CAD Drawing –IV
Commands:
1) Circle
2) Line
3) Array
4) Centerline
5) Path array
6) Offset
7) Trim
8) Arc
Steps:
First, I use the center line command to draw centerline.

Then, I use circle command to draw the circles of different radius.

Then, I use array command to draw the circular pattern of circle of 2.5mm radius.

Then, I use line command and trim command to draw the central groove of inner circle.

Then, I use ray command, circle and path array command.

Then, I use circle command, trim and offset command.

Then, I use fillet command of 6mm & 12mm radius.

Then, I use circle, arc, trim and array command. Then our drawing is
final.
