Lic Prac 2 - Non-Inverting Summing Amp

The document outlines an experiment for designing a non-inverting summing amplifier using the IC741 operational amplifier. It includes details on the components required, the theory behind the IC741, and the configuration of the summing amplifier. The output voltage of the amplifier is determined by the sum of the input voltages, adjusted by feedback and grounding resistors.

Linear Applications of OPAMP

Aim: - Design non-inverting Summing Amplifier using IC741.

Components:
● IC 741 (OPAMP)
● DC Power Supply
● Breadboard, Connecting Wires
● 10kΩ Resistors, Voltmeter

Theory:
IC 741:
 Op-Amp Basics: An operational amplifier is a high-gain voltage amplifier with
differential inputs and usually a single-ended output. It amplifies the difference
between the two input voltages.
 IC 741 Overview: The IC 741 is an 8-pin integrated circuit that functions as a
standard op-amp. It is popular for its stability, ease of use, and wide range of
applications.

The IC 741 has 8 pins, each serving a specific purpose:

1. Offset Null (+): Used to nullify the offset voltage.
2. Inverting Input (-): The input where the signal is inverted.
3. Non-Inverting Input (+): The input where the signal remains in phase.
4. V- (Negative Power Supply): Connected to the negative voltage supply.
5. Offset Null (-): Similar to Pin 1 for offset adjustmeThis type of amplifier is
commonly used in audio mixing, signal processing, and other applications where
multiple signals need to be combined and amplified.nt.
6. Output: Provides the amplified signal.
7. V+ (Positive Power Supply): Connected to the positive voltage supply.
8. No Connection (NC): Typically not connected to the circuit.

Summing Amplifier –

A non-inverting summing amplifier is an op-amp configuration that adds multiple input

voltages and produces an amplified output without phase inversion. In this circuit, the input
voltages are applied to the non-inverting terminal, while the inverting terminal is connected
to a feedback resistor. The output voltage is proportional to the sum of the input voltages,
multiplied by the gain set by the feedback and grounding resistors. Its output equation is:
Vout= (1+Rf/R1)(V1+V2)
This type of amplifier is commonly used in audio mixing, signal processing, and other
applications where multiple signals need to be combined and amplified.
