at 2,750 million people although it soared to 3,5 million in 2017.
Regarding travellers sightseeing on the island, the number of these visitors stood at 750,000
people at the beginning of the period in 2010, which was followed by a year of remaining stable
at the same level in 2011 before it grew steadily in 2013. From 2013 to 2015 experienced an
unchanged trend, then the figure hit a low of around 1,.2 million before recovering to 1.5
million in 2017.

On the other hand, yatch traveller numbers represented 250000, doubled to 5000000 after one
year. However, in 2012 the number of these visitors fell back to the same level as 2010,
followed by a dramatic climb to 2 million people at the end of the period surveyed in 2017.
Interestingly, this figure also surpassed its counterpart in the middle of 2015.
