Master of Ceremonies:

“Now the Unit Banner will be transferred by the outgoing President to the incoming

This transfer of the banner means that henceforth the leadership and administration of
this Unit shall rest, upon her and the other officers until their successors shall legally
take over.”

“The Banner is the flag of the organization. It bears the seal and motto: Charity, Work
and Loyalty.

CHARITY stands for love of God and our fellowmen. WORK stands for our labors in

The inducting officer (or incoming President) holding an unlighted candle, goes
before His Excellency/ Reverence, who gives light to her candle saying:

"I light this candle that the

love of God be the sole motivation behind all

(The inducting Officer or Incoming President then who in turn lights candle of
officer beside her. The officer then lights the next candle, the rest do likewise down

Master of Ceremonies:

"This is now the Candle Ceremonies. This act symbolizes that the Catholic
4

Women's League works in its apostolate in close collaboration with the Hierarchy
and the LOVE ever on fire which should burn within us for God and our Church to
warm us in our mutual work.”

section / and in my social sphere, / by prayer / work, and example, / and by living
/ a truly Catholic life. / May God and Our Blessed Mother / help me to keep my
pledge”

5. Profession of Faith

The Spiritual Adviser (signals all to kneel to recite the CREDO with him):

"This is my profession of Faith."

I believe in one God, the Father almighty,

maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
5

and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Concluding Prayer

The Spiritual Adviser: In support to one another, and in communion with all the saints
in heaven, let us now pray with one heart and one voice, Our Father….

6. The Blessing

The Spiritual Adviser: (standing before them while all remain kneeling with lighted
candles):

"Officers and Board Members of the Board of the Holy Family Parish Unit of
the Catholic Women's League, remember to be faithful to your solemn pledge. May
Christ, Our Supreme Leader, and Our Blessed Mother, enlighten, help, and bless
you."

He now gives the BLESSING while all remain kneeling.

(All stand, blow out their candle)
