Welcome to the Fisch: The Whole
Guide
This is a guide for everything, like Enchant’s Pros and Cons, Rod’s Pros and
Cons, Locations and more. We’ll start with the Early-Game guide.
Remember, this is not a wiki, just feels like wiki style, but it isn’t wiki and
it’s mainly guides with a lot of info. DO NOT SAY THIS IS BETTER THAN
TRELLO!!! Without trello, this guide wouldn’t exist. We appreciate the
people who made the trello.
Note that this is not a strict or particularly in-depth guide, and rather a list of optimal
progression recommendations and list of mechanics

Tutorial
Begin by completing the tutorial
This is started by speaking to Pierre at Moosewood’s Beach
The tutorial teaches the basic mechanics of Fisch
Fishing Mechanics
● Fishing
To fish, equip your fishing rod and hold down Left-Click
Release to cast your bobber into the water
● Shaking
After the bobber lands, “Shake” buttons will appear on the screen
Each shake button pressed reduces the time for the fish to be caught by about .5
seconds
Shaking is entirely optional, and only causes fish to be caught quicker
● Perfect Catches
If a fish is successfully caught and was within the Fishing Bar for the entire duration
of the minigame, it will result in a perfect catch
Perfect Catches reward 1.5x XP and 10C$ directly after catching
● Fish Rarity
Fish can have different rarities, which often correspond to Difficulty & Value
They are as follows:
Trash → Common → Uncommon → Unusual → Rare → Legendary → Mythic →
Relic
● Bait
Bait can be obtained from any type of Crate (except for fish barrels) and can be used
to increase or decrease Luck, Lure, and Resilience for a catch
Preferred Luck and Universal Luck
Some fish prefer specific types of bait
See Bait for more info
Progression
1. If you struggle with the fishing minigame, buy the Training rod for 300C$ at the
merchant. If you are confident in your ability to fish, you can skip this step.
2. First, fish at Moosewood to obtain 2,000C$ and buy the Carbon Rod, skipping the
Plastic Rod.
3. Reach Level 5 and save up 800C$ to buy the Rowboat and GPS (Located on a chair
in front of the Moosewood Pond).
4. Leave Moosewood and travel to either Roslit bay or Mushgrove swamp to obtain
either the Magma Rod or Fungal rod respectively
Either of these will be used to grind up to the Mid-Game rods (Fast, Lucky, and Long
rod can be skipped)
a. Magma Rod (See Magma Rod Quest for how to obtain this)
Fish in the Volcano and sell fish until you’ve obtained 15,000C$
b. Fungal Rod (See Fungal Rod Quest for how to obtain this)
Fish at Harvester’s Spire and sell fish until you’ve obtained 15,000C$
5. You are now ready to progress towards Mid-Game rods
Mid-Game
Enchanting
See Enchanting for an in-depth guide to the enchantment process
Enchanting can make a rod more powerful, but at the cost of a Relic
This makes it not worthwhile on rods that you don’t plan on using, so choose carefully before
you enchant a rod
The Enchantment granted is random, there is no way to specifically choose a desired
enchantment
Additionally, it is often not worth enchanting the Magnet Rod as it really only benefits from
one Enchantment (Swift) which is unlikely to obtain
The Enchant Relic having a mutation/being shiny or sparkling will not affect the
enchantments granted in any way
Progression
1. With the 15,000C$ you’ve saved up (can be less depending on which rod you choose
to go for), buy one of the following rods
None of these are necessarily better than any others (except Fortune Rod, which can
be skipped due to fairly obsolete use-cases), so it comes down to preference as to
which you prefer to use
If you pick a rod and don’t particularly like/feel comfortable with it, choose another
a. Steady Rod
This rod has good Resilience stats, making it optimal for Deep Ocean fishing
and getting Mythic Fish, however has a very slow Lure stat, meaning you’ll
catch fish fairly slowly
b. Nocturnal Rod
This rod has the best all-round stats for Mid-Game, making it optimal for
grinding fish in the ocean at Harvester’s Spire, or for Bestiary progress
c. Magnet Rod
This rod has an incredibly high chance to reel in Crates and Bait Crates,
making it optimal for bait crate grinding at Sunstone Island or carbon crate
grinding in Vertigo (both are similarly effective)
d. Rapid Rod
This rod has an incredibly high Lure stat, making it effective for catching lots
of fish, but keep in mind it has negative Resilience so fish will be more difficult
& you will mostly catch more common fish, optimal grinding is done at
Harvester’s Spire
2. Grind 7,000C$ to buy the Hovercraft for getting around faster (Optional)
3. Grind 8,000C$ to buy the Fish Radar to see fish hotspots (Optional, all hotspot
locations listed in the Spreadsheet)
4. Grind 110,000C$ and begin Late-Game progression
Late-Game
Progression
1. Purchase the Mythical Rod from the Travelling Merchant (Midas Rod is outclassed by
this, so can be, and often is, skipped)
2. Purchase the Luxury Speedboat as it’s optimal value for money out of all of the Boats
(Optional)
3. Pick one of the following for Late-Game Deep Ocean Grinding (Optional):
a. King’s Rod
Obtaining the King’s Rod makes even the most difficult fish fairly trivial to
catch and is a good alternative if you struggle to obtain the resilient
enchantment on the Mythical Rod
b. Resilient Enchantment
A Mythical Rod enchanted with Resilient (or Controlled/Steady depending on
your playstyle & Skill) is currently the most optimal rod in the game, retaining
all the benefits of the Mythical Rod while also making even the hardest Mythic
fish as trivial as they are with the King’s Rod
4. Destiny Rod (Wouldn’t Recommend)
Currently not particularly useful, outclassed by the Mythical Rod
It’s highly likely that it will receive a buff and become significantly more useful in the
near-future but is currently fairly useless
Full Bestiary Completion Tips
● The Bestiary Spreadsheet contains the optimal Time, Weather, Season, Bait,
Location, and any Fishing Spots for every fish, providing all the information needed to
have the best chances at catching them
● If you find yourself struggling to catch the fish, switch to a rod with good Resilience
(Steady/King’s) to make it easier
● The Fisch Discord (Link at the top in Useful Links) can be a useful place to ask
others for tips and advice on specific fish

The Ocean
The large expanse surrounding all the other islands, fishing anywhere that isn’t at or next to
an island will result in fishing in the ocean
A total of 39 fish are found in the ocean, significantly more than any other region in the
game
Deep Ocean
Shrimp, Barracuda, Prawn, Salmon, Anglerfish, Coelacanth, Halibut, Swordfish, Colossal
Squid, and Oarfish all require being in the Deep Ocean to catch
Deep Ocean can be easily identified as deeper seafloor than the regular ocean, usually
noticeably further away from islands
The easiest way to access the Deep Ocean for fish is to drive a boat all the way out, past all
the islands, and fish way out there
If you need to fish somewhere and need to be 100% sure that it is deep ocean, drive
out to the point where you can barely see the any other island on max render distance
and i guarantee it will be considered deep ocean
The Arch
GPS: 1000, -1250
The Arch is a structure located in the ocean Northeast of Moosewood, east of the Statue of

Quest NPC
Wilson is a very great Quest NPC for beginners, since he gives you a lot of Common
Crates. He’s one of the easiest to finish the quest, all you need to do is find his Lost Rod.
Jump behind Wilson and there’s a small cave with the moss, go there and you’ll see a Lost
Rod. Then go back to the mountain and bring the Lost Rod to Wilson.

Spawn Location
It’s nice to spawn here, honestly it’s the worst ever to have a spawn location here,

the Flimsy Rod and can really benefit from the bonus Control and Resilience
this rod offers
Plastic Rod
Obtained From: Moosewood Merchant (GPS: 465, 150, 235) for 900C$
Stats: 10% Lure
15% Luck
0 Control
10% Resilience
100 Max Kg
“Made of ABS plastic. You can trust this rod will last you.”
Generally worth skipping as this rod doesn’t offer anything particularly special,
and Carbon Rod is a more solid option with a similar price point
Carbon Rod
Obtained From: Moosewood Merchant (GPS: 465, 150, 235) for 2,000C$
Stats: -10% Lure
25% Luck
0.05 Control
10% Resilience
600 Max Kg
“Stiff, strong, and easier to handle than other rods out there, however it is slightly
shorter”
A solid choice for a first upgrade from the Flimsy Rod, easily capable of carrying to the end
of early-game progression
Fast Rod
Obtained From: Moosewood Merchant (GPS: 465, 150, 235) for 4,500C$
Stats: 45% Lure
-15% Luck
0.05 Control
-12% Resilience
175 Max Kg
“Quick rod that seems to catch fish in a fly! You can tell it’s fast from the
racing stripes.”
Although faster than the Carbon Rod, is generally worth skipping due to the
fairly high price point which can be better saved towards a mid-game rod
Lucky Rod
Obtained From: Moosewood Merchant (GPS: 465, 150, 235) for 5,250C$
Stats: -30% Lure
60% Luck
0.05 Control
-12% Resilience
175 Max Kg
“Seems to attract a handful of rare fish. Not sure why? …Maybe I should
buy a lottery ticket?”
Falls into the same pitfalls as the Fast Rod, due to its fairly high price point
which can go towards mid-game rods & tools
Long Rod
Obtained From: Moosewood Wilderness (GPS: 480, 180, 150) for 4,500C$
Stats: 20% Lure
30% Luck
-0.1 Control
0% Resilience
250 Max Kg
“Not the strongest, but it’s sure the longest! Is this really needed?”
Longer than all other rods, although this is rarely useful (it’s not very good)
Note: Data in Image is outdated but data on this page is not
Magma Rod
Obtained From: Talk to Orc (GPS: -1850, 165, 160) and then bring them a
Pufferfish
Stats: -70% Lure
15% Luck
0 Control
0% Resilience
200 Max Kg
Passive: Capable of Fishing in Lava
Useful for bestiary completion & Volcano Farming, being the only rod able to catch
Volcano fish; Additionally, is obtainable for free
Fungal Rod
Obtained From: Talk to Agaric (GPS: 2600, 130, -730) and then bring them an
Alligator
Stats: -10% Lure
45% Luck
0 Control
0% Resilience
200 Max Kg
Passive: 70% Chance for a catch to sprout spores, which give Luck IV for 45s
“70% chance for the rod to sprout suspicious spores, giving you Luck IV for
45 seconds! Prettyy funky!”
Lower Max Kg than the Carbon Rod, but is a solid choice to bridge the gap to
affording a mid-game rod as it’s free and the decent luck + spore ability makes it great
all-round
Mid-Game Rods
Steady Rod
Obtained From: Roslit Bay Blacksmith (GPS: -1510, 140, 765) For 7,000C$
Stats: -60% Lure
35% Luck
0.05 Control
30% Resilience
100,000 Max Kg
Passive: Increases Shake UI Size
“Insanely stiff and strong. Can withstand immense pressure and tension. -
Increases shake UI size.”
Great for trying to hook more difficult fish, with its control and resilience stats,
however not particularly good overall for grinding due to negative lure stat
Fortune Rod
Obtained From: Roslit Bay Blacksmith (GPS: -1510, 140, 765) For 12,750C$
Stats: -35% Lure
110% Luck
0 Control
-15% Resilience
700 Max Kg
“Extremely lucky rod with an odd tendency to attract significantly rarer fish than
usual.”
Better Version of Lucky Rod, not particularly great when compared to other mid-game
alternatives despite its high luck stat.
Rapid Rod
Obtained From: Roslit Bay Blacksmith (GPS: -1510, 140, 765) For 14,000C$
Stats: 72% Lure
-20% Luck
0 Control
-20% Resilience
700 Max Kg
“Extremely fast rod that catches fish at record speeds! -it even has racing
wings!”
Good rod for catching a lot of fish quickly, although they’ll more than likely be almost
all common/uncommon fish, and a lack of resilience makes rarer fish more difficult
Synergises best with Swift, Divine/Storming/Breezed, Scrapper, or
Steady/Resilient/Controlled
Magnet Rod
Obtained From: Terrapin Island Shipwright (GPS: -200, 130, 1930) For 15,000C$
Stats: -10% Lure
0% Luck
0.05 Control
0% Resilience
10,000 Max Kg
Passive: Incredibly (95+%) high chance to hook Crates
“This rod has an advanced magnetic field, allowing it to quickly attract crates and
loot.”
Good for grinding crates, particularly Quality Bait Crates at Sunstone Island (150C$) and
the contents of Carbon Crates in Vertigo (Abyss)
Nocturnal Rod
Obtained From: Vertigo (Abyss) Shop (See: Vertigo) For 11,000C$
Stats: -10% Lure
70% Luck
0 Control
-25% Resilience
1,000 Max Kg
Passive: Can catch Nocturnal/Diurnal Fishes at any time
“Seems to wake up fish just by throwing the bobber in!-- Can catch
nocturnal and diurnal fish at any time!”
Mythical Rod
Obtained From: Travelling Merchant For 110,000C$
Stats: 0% Lure
45% Luck
0.05 Control
0% Resilience
2,000 Max Kg
Passive: All fish have a 30% chance to become Mythical (4.5x Value)
Best all-round rod in the game, the 30% chance to 4.5x value effectively about
doubles the value of all fish on average
King’s Rod
Obtained From: Keeper’s Altar (GPS: 1380, -805, -300) For 120,000C$
Stats: -45% Lure
55% Luck
0.15 Control
35% Resilience
inf Max Kg
Passive: All fish are 15% Bigger
The high Control, Resilience and unlimited Max Kg make this a good rod for
making even the most difficult fish trivial, however this is often seen as more of a
novelty than a particularly useful stat
Destiny Rod
Obtained From: Caleia (The Arch) (GPS: 980, 130, -1230) For 190,000C$
(Req. 70% Bestiary Complete)
Stats: -10% Lure
250% Luck
0 Control
0% Resilience
2,000 Max Kg
Has high Luck but not much else, often seen as not worth it due to literally having no other
stats or abilities
Effectively just a better lucky rod, not super great in terms of progression
If you got this really early on it's alright kind of
Useful for catching the unique FischFright Mutations out of season

Exclusive Mutations
Frightful Pools
Enchant Relics
To Enchant a Fishing Rod, you must first obtain an Enchant Relic
Enchant Relics have their own distinct “Relic” rarity tier, indicated by a cyan
coloured exclamation mark upon hooking one (as opposed to a
red/orange/pink mark)
Enchant Relics have a 1/300 chance to be hooked, regardless of weather,
time, season, bait, and luck
Keeper’s Altar
To Reach Keepers Altar for Enchanting, you must first travel to the Statue of Sovereignty
(GPS: 50, 130, -1000) and enter the Sovereignty Mines
At the end of the tunnel, there is an Elevator (GPS: -20, 135, -1130) guarded by a miner
NPC who will sell you an Elevator Token for 400C$
After Purchasing the Token, the Elevator Console can be interacted with to descend to
Keeper’s Altar
Note that the Relic WILL be consumed and only the Currently Equipped
Rod will be given the Enchantment
Do keep in mind that if a Relic has a mutation, it won’t affect the enchants that you
obtain
Enchantments
The Enchantment applied is chosen Randomly from the following list
All Enchantments have an equal chance of being chosen
