Materials
 Yarn/wool: I have used Catania yarn from Schachenmayr in beige (0263 < 50g),
white (0106 < 50g), pink (0222 < 50g) and dark grey (0387 < 50g) and Brazilia yarn
from Schachenmayr in white (00001 < 50g) color.
 Crochet hook: 3.0 mm
 Tapestry needle
 Scissors
 Filling
 Two 6 mm black safety eyes
 20 cm long, 3 cm wide black elastic band
 Small flower button for Baarb’s hair

Abbreviations
St(s) - stitch(es)
Ch - chain
Sc - single crochet
Slst - slip stitch
Inc - increase (2 sc in next st)
Dec - decrease (2 sc worked off together)
(nr) - indicates the total number of stitches in the current row/round
FO - fasten off

Important Notes
 All rounds are worked in a continuous spiral (except eyelids and tongue). Do not join
or turn, unless instructed otherwise
 You may find it useful to use a stitchmarker for counting your rounds
 Take your time to create your amigurumi’s face, it is a very important part of the final
result
 While stuffing take care to give each part a nice shape

In next round mouth and head will be crocheted together. Please prepare the mouth by
folding it in half.

Round 15. 6 sc (insert hook through mouth and head stitches, as you see on the
pictures above), 18 sc (24)
Round 16. 6 sc (insert hook through the remaining stitches of the mouth, see
pictures below), 18 sc (24)

The mouth is positioned slightly towards the right side of the head.

With white Brazilia yarn:

FO. Stuff the head, insert the elastic band into the opening. Close the opening with invisible
stitches (use the loops of the last round) and sew in the elastic band together with it (as you
see on the pictures below).

Eyes

Eyeballs with white Catania yarn (make 2):

Round 1. ch 4 (4)
Round 2. sc in second ch from hook, sc, 3 sc in last ch. Continue on the other
side of beginning ch: sc, 2 sc into the last ch (you made the first sc into
this ch) (8)
Round 3. inc, sc, 3 inc, sc, 2 inc (14)
Round 4. – Round 5. sc* (14)

FO. Leave a long yarn tail for sewing it to the head.

Eyelids with beige yarn (make 2):

Eyelids are crocheted in rows.

Row 1. ch7 (7)


Row 2. Starting at second ch from hook 6 sc, turn (6)
Row 3. 3 dec, DO NOT TURN!

Slst around. FO. Leave a long yarn tail for sewing it to the head.

Insert the black safety eyes into the eyeballs (see pictures above). With invisible stitches
sew the eyes to the head. For the exact place see the pictures below. Stuff the eyes softly
with a small amount of filling while sewing. Sew the eyelids onto the eyeballs.

Nose
Embroider the nose with beige yarn. The nose is formed by 3 big stitches. For the exact
place and position of the stitches see the pictures below. The stitches are pulled tight and
fixed by a knot above the eyelids. Hide the yarn tail in the head.

With beige yarn (make 2):

Round 1. 3 sc in double adjustable ring (3)


Round 2. inc* (6)
Round 3. (sc, inc)* (9)
Round 4. (2 sc, inc)* (12)

Round 6. (4 sc, inc)* (18)
Round 7. (5 sc, inc)* (21)

FO; leave a long yarn tail. Flatten the ears and fold back about a quarter on each side (see
pictures above). With invisible stitches sew them to the head. See the pictures for the exact
place.

Tongue

Tongue is crocheted in rows.


With pink yarn:
Row 1. ch 9 (9)
Row 2. slst in second ch from hook, 3 slst, 3 sc, 3 sc in last ch. Continue on the other
side of beginning ch: 3 sc, 4 slst (17)
FO. Leave a long yarn tail and with invisible stitches sew it into the mouth (see pictures).

White Tail End

With white Brazilia yarn:


Round 1. ch 10 (10)
Round 2. sc in second ch from hook, 7 sc (=sc in each of the next 7 ch), 3 sc in
last ch. Continue on the other side of beginning ch: 7 sc (=sc in each of
the next 7 ch), 2 sc into the last ch (you made the first sc into this ch) (20)
Round 3. – Round 6. sc* (20)

FO. Leave a long yarn tail and with invisible stitches sew it to the other end of the elastic
band (see pictures above).

Feet

With dark grey yarn (make 2):

Round 1. 6 sc in double adjustable ring (6)


Round 2. inc* (12)
Round 3. (sc, inc) 3-times, 6 sc (15)
Round 4. (2 sc, inc) 3-times, 6 sc (18)
Round 5. – Round 8. sc* (18)

Stuff the foot.
Round 15. dec* (6)
FO. Close the hole by leading the thread through the front loops of last round, pull it tight
and weave the yarn tail into the foot. With a few invisible stitches create the cloven hoofs
on the foot (see pictures).

With invisible stitches sew the foot to the tail end.

Horns

With dark grey yarn (make 2):

Round 4. – Round 13. 3 sc, 3 hdc (6)

FO. Leave a long yarn tail and with invisible stitches sew the horns to the head of Baarney.

Sew a small flower button onto the hair of Baarb.
