INTRODUCTION
UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM is a website created
specifically for the university to manage college, faculty &
students through digitally. This method will help universities to
enhance scope of operations by decreasing the labour cost
involved. The technology also enables for the quick and easy
management of an online giving assignments student data entry
that users can explore and use his daily college works from with
just a few mouse clicks.
OBJECTIVE
UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM [UMS] deals with the
maintenance of university, college, faculty, student
information within the university. This project of UMS involved
the automation of student information that can be
implemented in different college managements.
The project deals with retrieval of information through an
interface or campus wide portal using database. It collects
related information from all the departments of an
organization and maintains files, which are used to generate
reports in various forms to measure individual and overall
performance of the students.
FEASIBILITY STUDY
The feasibility of the project is analyzed in this phase and business
proposal is put forth with a very general plan for the project and
some cost estimates. During system analysis the feasibility study of
the proposed system is to be carried out. This is to ensure that the
proposed system is not a burden to both the public and the company.
For feasibility analysis, some understanding of the major
requirements for the system is essential. Three key considerations
involved in the feasibility analysis are:
Technical Feasibility :
This study is carried out to check the technical feasibility i. e. the
technical requirements of the system. Any system developed must
not have a high demand on the available technical resources. This
will lead to high demands being placed on the client. The developed
system must have a modest requirement, as only minimal or null
changes for implementing this system.
Operational Feasibility :
The aspect of study is to check the level of acceptance of the system
by the user. This includes the process of training the user to use the
system efficiently. The user must not feel threatened by the system,
instead must accept it as a necessity. The level of acceptance by the
users solely depends on the methods that are employed to educate
the user about the system and to make him familiar with it.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENT
SPECIFICATION
Being a web-based solution the first and foremost thing that starts
acquiring importance in this project is the way the complete package
needs to be configured. Web-based solutions by virtue of their
designs are mostly thin client solutions (unless they are heavy on
DHTML). To run this kind of a solution properly it is necessary that
the Server configurations are properly worked out. It is the server
that will have to ultimately scale up as and when the numbers of
users start increasing.
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
The minimum Hardware requirements for the application to run
smoothly should have the following configuration:
SOFTWARE SPECIFICATIONS
The minimum software requirements are as follows:

DATA DICTIONARY
The logical characteristics of current system data stores including
both user’s and admin’s name, email, username, phone number,
address password 6identifies process where the data are used and
where immediate access to information required, Serve as the basis
for identifying database requirements during system design.
Uses of Data Dictionary:
This is a page where you can see 3 pictures Admin, Faculty & Student.
By clicking on any picture it will redirect you that login page.
FEATURES
ADMIN
FACULTY
Faculty can send notice to students.
USERS
The primary objective for test case design is to derive a set of tests
that has the highest livelihood for uncovering defects in software. To
accomplish this objective two different categories of test case design
techniques are used. They are -
White box testing.
Black box testing.
White-box testing:
White box testing focus on the program control structure. Test cases
are derived to ensure that all statements in the program have been
executed at least once during testing and that all logical conditions
have been executed.
Block-box testing:
