Hi Frank,
My dance club meeting will finish late today, about an hour later than normal.
After that, I have to go to the post office to buy some stamps. Could you please
cook dinner? I will probably be too late to do it. Don't worry about drinks. Aunt
Mary says she will buy some when she comes. If my brother calls, please tell him
that I will call him back tonight.
See you later,
Cindy
At the first place, I didn't want to go to summer camp. I imagined an awful place with lots of strict
rules. However, Beaufort Camp proved to be a delightful surprise, far from my expectations. We had
relaxed mornings without early wake-up calls, with breakfast before activities starting at 10 o'clock.
The range of activities was vast and enjoyable, with my favorites being canoeing, volleyball, and horse
riding.
Evenings at the camp were equally enchanting. We gathered around a crackling campfire, sharing
stories, laughter, and the delightful taste of roasted marshmallows. For those seeking a closer
connection with nature, there was always an option to sleep beneath the twinkling stars. During the
day, the weather was boiling but there was a big swimming pool to cool us down.
Thinking back on my time at camp, I can confidently say it was an amazing and life-changing
experience. The memories, the things I learned, and the friends I made are all very special to me. If
you've ever been unsure about going to a summer camp, I really recommend giving it a try. Beaufort
Camp is a friendly place with lots of fun things to do, and it's a great opportunity to make lasting
friendships. It showed me that summer camp can be a truly wonderful adventure.

I'm working for a magazine that has been running a project on British language learners. As an
experiment, they asked me to learn a completely new language for one month. Following this, I was
required to travel to the country and undergo various 'tests' to assess my ability to 'survive' in
different situations. I chose to learn Polish because my great-grandmother was Polish and I have
some relatives there. While I can already speak French and Spanish, both of which are Latin-based
languages, I anticipated that Polish would present a wholly different linguistic challenge.
I did a one-month intensive course at a language school in Birmingham. I thought I was good at
languages before I started learning Polish, but now I'm not so sure. I found it incredibly difficult. The
grammar was really complicated and the words were not like any other language I know so it was
very hard to remember them. For example, I had thought that 'football' was a universally understood
term, but in Polish, it takes the form of 'puke nolna.' The pronunciation added another layer of
difficulty, with a huge number of unexpected 'z's, such as 'jeidzisz,' meaning 'go.'
My language course finished just yesterday and I'm going to Krakow for the weekend to take my
evaluation tests. A local guide called Kasia is coming with me and is going to assess my performance
and assign a score out of 10.

for the experiment? mean?
A. Because it's a Latin-based language A. Go
B. Because it's an international language B. Dance
C. Because the author had relatives in Poland C. Mother
D. Because it's closely related to French and D. Football
Spanish
40. Who will give mark to the author’s
language skill?
A. The magazine editor

My favorite restaurant is Green Leaf. It’ located on city center near the park, a welcoming
atmosphesre. Green Leaf has a lot of healthy dishes. The menu has many opportunities like
salad, drinks, fast food, soup, fresh fishs, delicious food,… Price at restaurant is not expensive.
And, the serve is good. I don’t too wait a long time for food, waiter also friendly and they give
me a free water like iced tea, iced water, …That restaurant is clean and comfortable. I
recommend visiting around lunchtime or early evening when it’s not too busy. If you go on
weekends, it's a good idea to make a reservation. Be sure to try their matcha latte—it’s
amazing!
