Make sure timer timer is in continuous on or set to specific time


Make sure speed dial is not in the off position (12:00 position)
Reset breaker/ Ohm fuse replace if fuse is open (fuse located on back
right)
Replace if worn down to less than 1/4'' left (reference checking brushes
in MaxQ 2000 folder)
Check for 120V AC input to two blue terminals on speed control

Check for DC output is 0 to 90V DC, if voltage present replace motor

Replace if loose,worn, or broken (reference checking drive belt in


MaxQ2000 folder)
If platform cannot be rotated the bearings will need to be checked
(reference how to check bearings in MaxQ 2000 folder)

Replace if loose,worn, or broken (reference checking drive belt in


MaxQ2000 folder)
Replace if worn down to less than 1/4'' left (reference checking brushes
in MaxQ 2000 folder)
Make sure vessels are evenly distributed on the platform for a balanced
load
Remove the bearing pan and reattach as per assembly instructions
(reference how to attach bearing pan in MaxQ 2000 folder)

Adjust the minimum trim pot on speed control (refer to speed calibration
procedure in MaxQ 2000 folder)

Adjust the maximum trim pot on speed control (refer to speed


calibration procedure in MaxQ 2000 folder)

Adjust trim pot (located at the back of the shaker) to proper rpm setting
with the use of a hand held tachometer
Calibrate the speed for each significant load change or purchase a
digital MaxQ shaker

Solutions: Wiring Diagram
Plug the unit in. SHKE2000: LT1410X6, 120V
Look on unit's spec tag for voltage and Hertz. SHKE2000-1CE: LT1410X7, 240V
Reset circuit breaker and Ohm circuit breaker for continuity/ Replace if
circuit breaker is open.

Remove wire attached to the P1 connector on the display board and


verify 15V DC is present and check switch function by Ohming out pin 1
and 2 on connector P1 on the display board while pressing power
switch. If no switch function detected replace keypad. (reference print
for part number)

Ensure power switch is delivering inlet power to power supply board,


check connector P5 on motor control board for AC inlet voltage on pins
4 and 11. If AC voltage is not present replace motor control board. If
voltage is present verify AC voltage at power supply board terminals
AC(N) and AC(L). If no AC voltage present replace wire harness
(reference print for part number)
Verify 48 V DC voltage on connector P5 on motor control board pins 8
and 9 also verify that D13 LED is lit. If no voltage check DC at power
supply terminals output (-) and output (+). If 48V DC present replace
wire harness (reference print for part number), if not present replace
power supply board.

Ribbon cable lose between connector J1 on microboard and connector


J1 on display board. Remove cable and reconnect, if still no display
replace cable and/or display board.

Ribbon cable lose between connector J4 on microboard and connector


P2 on motor control board Remove cable and reconnect, if still no
display replace cable and/or display board.

Make sure timer is in elapsed mode or set to specific time


Make sure Start key has been pressed
Reset breaker (located on back of shaker) replace circuit breaker if it
will not reset
Replace shaker motor control board, if problem still persists replace
motor
Go to mechanical checks listed below

Cycle power, and redistribute vessel load evenly

Replace belt if loose,worn, or broken (reference checking drive belt in


MaxQ2000 folder)

If tripped reset circuit breaker and verify by turning on power switch and
check for green illuminated light on power switch. If not illuminated
replace circuit breaker
If the temperature controller is not illuminated check AC voltage to pins
7 and 8 on the temperature controller. If AC voltage is present and
controller is not lit replace temperature controller.

Make sure timer timer is in continuous on or set to specific time


Make sure speed dial is not in the off position (12:00 position)
If tripped reset circuit breaker and verify by operational motor.

If lid in not making contact with safety interlock switch check for
activation of switch by lid contact (see lower left back wall of chamber)

Verify controller is delivering DC voltage to terminals 3 and 4 on solid
state relay when green output light on controller is illuminated.
With DC voltage present on terminal 3 and 4 check for AC voltage on

Press the heat on switch on the control panel directly under the
temperature display. Can be verified by heat on light.
Replace blower motor if fan is not running and voltage is present
If high limit temperature is lit, increase high limit thermostat control by
turning fully clockwise. (reference instruction manual for procedure) If
high limit temperature light does not go off, replace high limit
thermostat.

If high limit temperature control is not defective the software high limit
temperature control may be causing the light to illuminate. Verify the
temperature calibration. If off recalibrate, if not replace main PC board.
If after recalibration temperature continues to drift out of tolerance,
replace sensor.
If heater is open replace. If over temperature protection device (see
procedure for setting OTP device in instruction manual) is open attempt
to reset, if it does not reset replace
Verify AC line voltage on terminal AC line (H) and AC line (L). If no
voltage present trace wires back to inlet power source for continuity
Check AC voltage on HTR1(H) and HTR1(L). If no voltage present
replace heat control board.

Remove wire attached to the P1 connector on the display board and


verify 15V DC is present and check switch function by Ohming out pin 1

switch. If no switch function detected replace keypad. (reference print

Ensure power switch is delivering inlet power to power supply board,


check connector P5 on motor control board for AC inlet voltage on pins
4 and 11. If AC voltage is not present replace motor control board. If
voltage is present verify AC voltage at power supply board terminals
AC(N) and AC(L). If no AC voltage present replace wire harness
(reference print for part number)
Verify 48 V DC voltage on connector P5 on motor control board pins 8
and 9 also verify that D13 LED is lit. If no voltage check DC at power
supply terminals output (-) and output (+). If 48V DC present replace
wire harness (reference print for part number), if not present replace
power supply board.

Ribbon cable lose between connector J1 on microboard and connector

verify 15V DC is present and check switch function by Ohming out pin 1
and 2 on connector P1 on the display board while pressing power
switch. If no switch function detected replace keypad. (reference print
for part number)

Ensure power switch is delivering inlet power to power supply board,


check connector P5 on motor control board for AC inlet voltage on pins
4 and 11. If AC voltage is not present replace motor control board. If
voltage is present verify AC voltage at power supply board terminals
AC(N) and AC(L). If no AC voltage present replace wire harness
(reference print for part number)
Verify 48 V DC voltage on connector P5 on motor control board pins 8
and 9 also verify that D13 LED is lit. If no voltage check DC at power
supply terminals output (-) and output (+). If 48V DC present replace
wire harness (reference print for part number), if not present replace
power supply board.

Ribbon cable lose between connector J1 on microboard and connector


J1 on display board. Remove cable and reconnect, if still no display
replace cable and/or display board.

Ribbon cable lose between connector J4 on microboard and connector


P2 on motor control board Remove cable and reconnect, if still no
display replace cable and/or display board.

Make sure timer is in elapsed mode or set to specific time


Make sure Start key has been pressed
Reset breaker (located on back of shaker) replace circuit breaker if it
will not reset

If lid in not making contact with safety interlock switch check for
activation of switch by lid contact (see lower left back wall of chamber)
Replace shaker motor control board, if problem still persists replace
motor
Go to mechanical checks listed below

Cycle power, and redistribute vessel load evenly


Replace belt if loose,worn, or broken
If platform cannot be rotated the bearings will need to be checked
(reference how to check bearings in MaxQ 4000 folder)

Replace if loose,worn, or broken (reference checking drive belt in


MaxQ4000 folder)
Make sure vessels are evenly distributed on the platform for a balanced
load
Remove the bearing pan and reattach as per assembly instructions
(reference how to attach bearing pan)

Per the MaxQ 7000 manual, refer to platform installation

Speed needs to be calibrated (refer to speed calibration procedure in


MaxQ 4000 instruction manual)

Speed needs to be calibrated (refer to speed calibration procedure in


MaxQ 4000 instruction manual)

Press the heat on switch on the control panel directly under the
temperature display. Can be verified by heat on light.
If high limit temperature is lit, increase high limit thermostat control by
turning fully clockwise. (reference instruction manual for procedure) If
high limit temperature light does not go off, replace high limit
thermostat.

If high limit temperature control is not defective the software high limit
temperature control may be causing the light to illuminate. Verify the
temperature calibration. If off recalibrate, if not replace main PC board.
If after recalibration temperature continues to drift out of tolerance,
replace sensor.
If heater is open replace. If over temperature protection device (see
procedure for setting OTP device in instruction manual) is open attempt
to reset, if it does not reset replace
Verify AC line voltage on terminal AC line (H) and AC line (L). If no
voltage present trace wires back to inlet power source for continuity
Check AC voltage on HTR1(H) and HTR1(L). If no voltage present
replace heat control board.

Verify that the stainless steel cover is being used and not the acrylic

Plug the unit in SHKA5000: 229-359-00, 120V
Turn on power switch on left side of shaker body, Will be verified by
green illuminated light on power switch SHKA5000-1CE: 229-374-00, 240V
Look on unit's spec tag for voltage and Hertz
If tripped reset circuit breaker and verify by turning on power switch and
check for green illuminated light on power switch. If not illuminated
replace circuit breaker
If the temperature controller is not illuminated check AC voltage to pins
7 and 8 on the temperature controller. If AC voltage is present and
controller is not lit replace temperature controller.

Make sure timer timer is in continuous on or set to specific time


Make sure speed dial is not in the off position (12:00 position)
If tripped reset circuit breaker and verify by operational motor.
If lid in not making contact with safety interlock switch check for
