Didactics for Middle School English Teachers


I. Course Description:
This 60-hour module introduces middle school English teachers to ELT didactics, combining theory with
practical applications. It focuses on teaching strategies aligned with the Moroccan curriculum, emphasizing
language acquisition principles, classroom management, and student-centered lesson planning.
Participants will explore methodologies, design and deliver lessons, and address challenges such as
differentiated instruction, integrating technology, and maintaining student engagement. Drawing on applied
linguistics and contemporary ELT practices, the course equips teachers with the skills and knowledge
needed for diverse classrooms. It also promotes reflective practices for professional growth, enabling
participants to create inclusive and engaging lessons.

II. Learning Outcomes:


By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Understand and apply key principles of ELT didactics for middle school learners.
2. Design engaging and communicative lesson plans that foster skills development (listening, speaking,
reading, writing).
3. Utilize strategies to motivate and manage middle school students effectively.
4. Incorporate task-based learning, project-based learning, and storytelling, into teaching practices.
