Assignment No.2

The document outlines an assignment for first-year engineering students focused on the projection of points and lines in three-dimensional space. It includes eight problems requiring the drawing of projections and locating traces for various lines with specified lengths, angles, and positions relative to horizontal and vertical planes. The assignment emphasizes understanding the geometric relationships and projections in the first quadrant.

DEPARTMENT OF FIRST YEAR ENGINEERING

ASSIGNMENT
MODULE 3 :Projection of Point and line
1. A line AB 70 mm long is inclined at an angle of 45° to the HP. and 30° to the V.P. its end
point A is on the HP and 25 mm infront of VP. Draw the projections of the line AB
assuming it to be in the first quadrant. Also locate the traces.
2. A line AB, 75 mm long is inclined at an angle of 35° to the VP. Its end point A is 20 mm
above HP and 15 mm infront of the VP. Plan length of the line is 50 mm. draw the
projections of the line assuming it to be in the first quadrant. Also locate the traces.

3. A line PQ, 70 mm long is inclined at an angle of 30° to the HP. Its end point P is 10 mm
above HP and 15 mm infront of the VP. Elevation length of the line is 45 mm. draw the
projections of the line assuming it to be in the first quadrant. Also locate the traces.

4. A line AB, 65 mm long has Its end point A is 20 mm above HP and 10 mm infront of the
VP. Elevation length and Plan length of the line are same and is of 50 mm. draw the
projections of the line assuming it to be in the first quadrant. Also locate the traces.
5. The point A of 65 mm long AB in HP and 15 mm infront of VP. The line is inclined to
HP and VP at 40° and 35°. Draw the projections of line AB and locate its traces.
6. A line AB has its end point A 16 mm above HP and 25 mm infront of VP. The length of
the line in the plan is 60 mm and length of the line in elevation is 65mm. the distance
between the projectors of end points A and B is 45mm. draw projections of the line. Find
true length of the line and its inclination with HP and VP. Locate its traces.
7. A line PQ, 50 mm long is inclined at an angle of 30° to the VP. Its end point P is 12 mm
above HP and 20 mm infront of the VP. Line PQ is contained by a plane perpendicular to
VP. and making an angle of 45 to the HP. draw projections of the line. Find its inclination
with HP and locate its traces.
8. A line AB, 60 mm long is inclined at an angle of 30° to the VP. Its end point A is on the
HP and 30 mm infront of the VP. End B of the line is 30 mm above HP. Draw the
projections of the line assuming it to be in the first quadrant. Also locate the traces.
