LED Indicators
Led (number) Indication Meaning
Module Status (1) Off No power applied to the module.
Solid Green The module is operating correctly.
Flashing Green Stand by, the module has not been initialized.
Flashing Red Minor fault. A minor fault has been detected.
Solid Red Major fault. A major error has been deteced, contact your supplier.

Flashing Green/Red Self test


Network Status (2) Off The module has no power or no IP address has been assigned.
Solid Green The module has at least one established EtherNet/IP connection.
Flashing Green There are no EtherNet/IP connections established to the module.
Flashing Red One or more of the connections in which this module is the target has timed out.
Solid Red The module has detacted that its IP address is already in use.
Flashing Green/Red Self test
Link (3) Off The module does not sense a link.
Green Module is connected to an Ethernet network

Installation and Startup Summary


(The following steps require a working installation of the ABC Config Tool on a PC)

1. Snap the module onto the DIN rail (See above)


2. Connect the module to the EtherNet network
3. Connect the module to the sub network
4. Connect the power cable and apply 24VDC power to the module
5. Connect the configuration cable between the module and the PC containing the ABC Config
Tool software. (Note: This cable can be removed after configuration)
6. Configure the module using the ABC Config Tool
7. Configure and start the EtherNet network

The Anybus Communicator for EtherNet is classified as a EtherNet slave module, i.e. it cannot orig-
inate connections on its own, but a scanner node can open a connection towards it.
